  1. It'd be nice if they'd play the album in full, similar to how they were playing Star Wars in order, but without posting it online first so we can experience the album for the first time live.

Also not trying to be rude but doing away with the hootenanny is the worst idea I've ever heard, acoustic Wilco is just so good.

I agree with you on that point...just don't like it at the end.  When they did the original Evening with during the middle, it was better.  I know that the logistics of setup and breakdown was not what they wanted and maybe why they changed to the end.

I saw 3 shows in a row last year in FLA and the last one at Sunfest (festival) had electric encore and that show sticks with me more than the other two.

  2. So Wilco starts their fall Midwest tour in two days. Do you think they will

    a. "Leak" and/or stream Schmilco in the next couple of days?

    b. Perform some new tracks without the album being out there?

    c. Stick with the Star Wars tour setlists for the time being?

It would be a very Wilco thing to do to have Schmilco appear on their website before this week is over...

    a.   No

    b.  Yes...at least the 2 already out

    c.  4-5 songs from SW

and I hope they do away with the hootannie (spelling?)

I will be seeing the show in Madison...so getting fired up.

  3. A Los Angeles jury deliberated for about five hours before deciding the band did not steal its most famous licks from another band.

The plaintiff failed to show that Plant and Page were familiar with "Taurus," and that the works were substantially similar.

I am glad...not really for Zep becuase they prob. did lift it...but for music in general, getting to be a joke with these lawsuits and it will impact art in the future if every time a person has hit they are the target of some bullshit.

When Blurred Lines lost I thought it was a joke, allthough when I first heard the song I thought of Got To Give It Up.

  4. It will interesting to see if he ends up making an album with Paul on vocals. That would be great.

btw..they already announced that Mick Ralphs is coming back on the europe tour...so I guess will be the end of Rich.

I agree but the question is can either of them write a good song still.

  5. Good show but could have been better. I was three people back from Albert which was neat. New songs sounded good and they pulled some random songs out (Evening Sun and Electrictyscape) but I thought the crowd would riot when no encore was played. MY biggest disappointment was nothing from Comedown Machine (Never heard anything live off that one) The band took 55 minutes to set up  after the opener and hit 11pm when Reptilia was played so I think the curfew caused them not to play an encore which felt like an odd ending. Still enjoy seeing them but was leaving wanting a little more.

cool...it looked like a warmup gig for the festival they are playing in a few days.  When I saw them in south florida years ago the show was short as well.

  6. StubHub cites a 'fanprotect guarantee' on its website. I would think if  a seller was caught selling invalid tickets they would be banned for any future sales. I'm just being naive, though. I know there are ways around anything. Would never buy a ticket off craigslist, though.

This is true in fact you need a CC to get account and I guess if you posted fake tickets they would charge your card.  I have bought many tickets off SH and sold many as welll...never had a problem (famous last words...lol).

Not so say people could figure out way to open account on SH and sell fake tickets but I think it is rare...plus you will at least get your $$ back but might miss the show, which they cant give back to you

  7. Thoughts on whether or not the PNW and West Coast shows will be "standard" Star Wars shows with the band opening the show by playing the album in its entirety?

Doubt it....I can't see them dong this multiple nights.  I heard they would be doing 2 albums per night...and get through the entire catalog.  In fact if they did 2 per night in SF there would be an opening on the last night for the new unreleased one.  They have 9 studio so far and the 10th will be the last night.

  8. I was wondering about Dylan because his current setlists are void of almost all classics. He throws in a few but this setlist will not sit well with 80k. They want the classics.

    It will be interesting. V

This was Dylan setlist a few nights ago...this will go over like a "led zeppelin" to quote Mr. Moon.

  9. I seem to recall reading that when he did those Wall shows there was a lot of lip-syncing going on. I wonder if that is true.

I would say yes it is true....Click tracks, backing tracks, helping vocal track.

Lip Syncing has gone hi tech...not just press a button a mouth words much more tech.  with some of the live voice and a "helping tape".

I saw the wall show a few times and it looked canned...plus I heard if you recorded the shows they where almost all the same total time.

Saw an article, maybe in WSJ, that estimated weekend passes would be in the $600 - $900 range. Prepare for the lamest crowd in the history of rock. They better have a seated area, because most of these geezers don't like to stand for concerts.

Prices are not that bad is you go for GA...overall cheaper then a Stones Show.   Add in the hotels for 3 nights and travel...now you are talking $$$$
