It was great.....I don't think it was that far off the truth as far as Bennett issues but yes we all know Wilco did evolve after YHF but pretty cool that the writer (or whoever came up with this scene) had the Jeff and Jay story.
We should come up with list of references in shows and movie (not just when they play as song but when they actually talk about it).
Other one I remember with How I met Your Mother (the threesome episode).

I agree ticketmaster is not good but know that it is the artist that makes these decisions on this and in fact the "ticketmaster fee" is also shared with the artists/promoter. Live Nation/Ticketmaster controls it.
The artist can do it however they want. Look at Springsteen/the Stones. Bruce has like 2 prices and $125 is top.....stones $300/$500 min lower level.

This one -- I think I do have it on my hard drive -- need to check when I get home.

I wonder we Steve is not involved?
Looks a little like a reach but sounds pretty good.

Artists are in bed with Ticketmaster...so don't believe that all those fees go to TM. To piggy back on above see lefsetz letter that talks about it.

Terrible. Was one of those artists that grew over time. Listen without prejudice was really great

The Sex Pistols are frauds.
I agree and I don't think that the HOF is a fraud. Do they have any room for improvement, for sure. They need to diversity that is a fact. Many genres need more in (Heavy Metal, New Wave/post punk, soul). I think that this year nominations were pretty good (19 in total). The voting peeps are out of touch (not the nomination committee).

This will be a great time for them to finally get Steve back in the band. Then they go back on tour and play those same few songs for a number of years. I always hated that band. Of course, the early albums are a different animal. But I never got into those either.
And Yes can get Jon back and do a re-union tour.
I am glad Pearl Jam is getting in there. One of the greatest bands of all times. I don't think I will buy any new albums they make - but they are still great.
Steve Perry is the wild card this year....Jon wants in, so he will get in (at least for the ceremony).
PJ is deserved for first time eligible (a rare thing). The only act that is getting this year that has been previously nominated is Yes. All others are first time nominated. I was hoping for 7 so maybe the Cars would get in or J Giels.
Shame that Chic could not crack the voters (nominated 11 times). I guess they finally gave up and will give Nile a "musical excellence".
The other moral is if they want to get more Hip Hop in (rappers), they need to only nominate 1 at a time.

Not sure favorite but a few jump out.
1. Live Aid
2. Page / Plant (the first tour)...never seen so many happy people with grins ear to ear
3. Wilco, The first Tour when they did "Evening with Wilco"...Fillmore in Miami Beach was the first night.
4. Neil Young - Smell the Horse Tour"...on the rail.
5. Drive By Truckers - Langerado Lae Night at Culture Room...Jason still in band...stood on stage for first 3 songs (friend got a photo pass).
6. Van Halen - 1984 - In High School, found tickets on floor in parking lot.
So many more...hard to narrow down...above are some memories I am having today.
Want to add a few others that I still think about
Stevie Ray Vaughn and Jeff beck. SVR was sick
David Bowie. 2 times. Serious moonlight tour. Philly spectrum. Drove from sleep away camp. Sang ashes to ashes in some kind of tube. Epic. Then at the edge in Fort Lauderdale which is now Revolution. Place holds 500 or so. Crazy packed.
U2 was on trip to see my uncle in San Diego and looked to see who was in town. Start of Joshua tree tour. BAD
Cheap Trick at Dubs in Gainesville. Girlfriend (now my wife) fake ID did not get in. I drove her back to apartment and went back to the show The amount of guitar picks per person at show was like 5 to 1
Diana Ross. Sunrise musical theatre. Got like 3rd row night of show. She came out during reach out and touch. And hugs my GF and me. GF. cries. Chills moment

I heard Cyndi Lauper doing Girls Just Want to Have Fun before the Robert Hazard original version.
I heard Cyndi Lauper doing Money Changes Everything before the Brains original version.
Not sure I ever heard the hazard version and it says on wiki that he only recorded a demo. Curious to hear it

I remember hearing Soul Man done by the Blues Brothers and although it sounded like and older song had never heard it before that.

I find this astonishing.
LOL I was thinking the same thing...but I guess if you got into the Hair Metal thing and were in middle school and had parents that did not "educate"....

Just remembered. Bon iver open for wilco in Florida a few years back.

Seems like a really time for Neil not to either tour or release some music...I guess we will see him the RRHOF with Pearl Jam.
I wonder what he is going to do next...Crazy Horse, CSNY, Solo, Promise......
