  1. Spittle? Who do you think I am? Bill O'Reilly? Or wait. He drools.
  2. Why not? Doesn't a debate hold any value? If not, what do you base your opinions on? Does the RNC just send you tubs of pablum and you lap it up dutifully? Thousands. It's complete stupidity to ask that question because you know better. Oh wait, if you close your eyes tight, and plug up year ears, then, no, nope, Obama's not saying anything. No you're not. Joe nailed it. You were dumb enough to try to turn it around, because that's one of few silly-assed responses you cling to throughout these threads. Don't ask a simple question if the simple answer is slapping you on the forehead. Or r
  3. You mean like televised debates? Where the interviewer isn't lobbing softball questions? Quite right, not the same at all. Obama has done that. Given Obama's track record, he has spoke on these issues over the past two years. It hasn't been confirmed yet that Palin can write, though the confidence is high. That said, if he is recorded as author, and the costs of reputation of not being able to stand behind it, I'd give him props that he can defend his positions. And I assume, from your quick reply, that you're not even going to bother to read it? Attempt to shoot holes in it? Calling him o
  4. This didn't require an interview, but you might find a few of his answers somewhere in this essay to the Council on Foreign Affairs last year ... http://www.foreignaffairs.org/20070701faes...leadership.html
  5. It's about the same as muskrat but not as good as rabbit.
  6. It's an opossum. Hopefully Harris was taking lessons on how to play dead. (EDIT) I'm trying to imagine the AP cutline: "Katherine Harris (right), ... "
  7. I'd say Obama is the only candidate in the race that has been faced that sort of tough, vetting interview. It was administered, on numerous occasions by Hillary Rodham Clinton. He stood up to it and handled it, while the Republicans were so afraid of her, they would do anything not to have to face her in November.
  8. The whole Palin thing deserves a bit of perspective. I mean, McCain could have made a worse choice ...
  9. That's what I'm here for. It's all going to work out.
  10. I haven't noticed it being that bad. You can put it to sleep quickly, plus I just dock it whenever I can, so no problems.
  11. Made for some interesting times Thursday night. I still don't know what to think about the way they're handling the Cubs-Houston series. Moving it to a neutral site made sense, but someone pointed out this morning that the last thing the Houston players need is to try to play a game elsewhere while wondering whether their family was safe.
  12. I dunno, when it comes to picking your poison, I'd still rather have Dr. Love or Dr. Evil.
  13. Give her time. She hasn't been fully in-doctrine-ated yet.
  14. I took my family to New York for Thanksgiving that year to see the Macy's parade -- it was a lifelong dream of my wife's and our company at the time had a condo on 57th Street. Everyone we talked to before we left and after we came back asked if we went to the site. I never even considered it, it just didn't make sense. I went to New York with a couple of college buddies in '82 and we hung out near the waterfront there playing guitars. And I knew that's where our offices had been, but I never had been there before. What is the loss one expects to see? Certainly there must be soul searching fro
  15. I can only remember Marmol having one short, bad patch -- post All-star break. He's made things interesting a few times, but I think he's been pretty amazing this year.
