Let's just say there's a bit more confidence with running him out there than the days of Mitch Williams.

Buddy, can you spare some confidence?

Actually "dipshit" would be an upgrade from the 2004 Republican VP candidate. -

The paragraph made it sound like obedience training. If she were a dog, she would look good in lipstick. -

They'll use a cardboard cutout of Charles Gibson during the prepping -- but no one will be able to tell the difference between cardboard and the real thing -- except the arc the real one will put on the softballs he lobs to Palin. -
Our company *had* an office in 5 WTC and still has one in the National Press Building in Washington, DC. The publisher had department from Balitmore by plane. We spent the better part of the day trying to locate these people. An ad salesman was just coming up from the subway station when the first one hit, and immediately ran up the street as far and fast as he could -- we hear from him about lunchtime. Our N.Y. reporter was fortunately not in 5 WTC, but about 5 buildings away talking with a maritime attorney. He came out of their building as the first one fell. He dove into a parked bus where

I still believe Clinton was the best chance, period. But not enough people agreed with me. I hope enough people agree with those who support Obama.

You are absolutely right. I think I mentioned in one of the previously closed threads that on NPR throughout the primary they frequently covered people who were voting for Obama just because he was a black candidate ("it was their time") and Clinton because she's a woman candidate ("it was their time"). Racism has a lot of faces (it's also a defense mechanism) so to be hypocritical about it in reverse is like afirmitive action on its ear. I think where we started down this slippery slope was in the push for political correctness. Attempting to change language doesn't change thoughts and be -
VC Book Club: Devil in the White City

So true about Olmstead. I love the part where he is describing his vision for the lake and the boats and the grasses. And his obsession with "poetic mystery" brilliant. As far as Holmes goes he just seems to stop at nothing. So creepy and just when I feel like I have to put the book down up pops Burnham. Larson ties the two stories together so well. What interested me about Olmstead was, once he gets this vision of his pallet, upon visiting the rural landscapes in Europe, the types of plans he details, I don't know if they were indigenous to the Midwest as he envisioned them, but I wor -

Just think how hollow all of McCain's "sexist" attacks would be if Hillary was the candidate. Can't claim the other side is sexist when the Republicans are attacking Hillary for being ugly, wanting to be a man, is a lesbian, etc. etc. etc. -

Isn't this why he picked Biden? To be *his* pitbull, sans lipstick? Though Bill can do the same thing. And do it with a smile. Good to see him throwing in with Obama. -

This is true, particularly the last bit. I know a family who got them a few times and they actually useda mixture of mayonnaise, put in their hair before bed with a shower cap. A dermatologist said it was a brilliant solution. Essentially it kills the nits and also keeps them from attaching to the hairs. Plus you dream of caesar salad!

Each person who is going to vote should take ownership for that vote. If you support Obama, don't try to win the election in the press, win it one person at a time. Someone brings crap up, remind them that it is form over substance, and turn the discussion to a real issue, one that you know about and feel strongly enough about that you can say why you're voting for Obama -- or McCain for that matter. If you know what issue the person values, speak about those issues. This empty crap is mob mentality -- the media that's too lazy to do anything but show video and sound bites, the public that's -

Very well put. If you're an Obama supporter, it's a lot of wasted energy that's counter productive. The more you engage people on the merits, values of your candidate, and steer away from the silly innuendo and rhetoric, the more you sterilize those hollow arguments. -
My iPhone is part of a family plan, I pay $30 a month for the Internet access (you have to have it). Rest of the family has texting at $30/month for the group. My home and work computers are Macs so the Blackjack I had was worthless. The iPhone was what I hoped the phone would become back when PDAs first started becoming ubiquitous.

I think it makes perfect sense -- or at least what I've decided you were trying to say makes perfect sense to me! It reminds me of the Jeff Goldblum line in The Big Chill: Michael: I don't know anyone who could get through the day without two or three juicy rationalizations. They're more important than sex. Sam Weber: Ah, come on. Nothing's more important than sex. Michael: Oh yeah? Ever gone a week without a rationalization?
