I posted this link in the Michael Jackson thread. There is a $300M loan due by year's end that will determine who will own the publishing company that controls The Beatles catalog.

The Jackson estate has generated $200M since Michael's death, but has a $300M loan due by year's end. How this loan gets paid will determine who will own the publishing company that controls The Beatles catalog.

Dennis Lehane has a new book coming out in early November. I can't wait that long. Can somebody around here with connections hook me up? Thanks. Continuing the Kenzie/Gennaro series:

I've never liked Valentine either, but he may just be the asshole the Marlins need right now. He certainly fits right in with upper management/ownership. He'd also be a good fit with the Mets, even though, for the most part, I also don't like clubs recycling their own former managers. Everybody has a place where their personality would be a positive, and Bobby V is real good at diverting attention onto himself by being a hee-hawing jackass. The Marlins and Mets both need managers to take the pressure off the players and Bobby V can do just that by smiling at the camera. I am glad, however, t

Jimenez had been sent home early the night before as he was sick. A lot of guys would have skipped a start and waited to perform at full strength, but not Ubaldo. He was having none of it, but it may be why he tanked out so early.

I love drums & percussion or anything rhythmic. Guitar players are a dime a dozen. Any asshole can play one...well, except for me; so almost any asshole can play guitar.

Being shut down by Lee and Hernandez should not come as a surprise. Rowland-Smith is another story.

I bought a red t-shirt in March at the Durham show. It was manufactured by Alstyle. The tag reads: "Made in Mexico of USA fabric." It's 100% cotton, so the fabric was most likely picked by one of those factory worker's migrant cousin. Profit goes to the Americans, so I guess everyone's getting paid.

The Orioles have SP Chris Tillman up now, too.

I'd prefer he replace Ibanez, but with Werth being a FA and Ibanez cashing a $12M paycheck next year I think I'm going to be disappointed.

The Phils have OF Dominic Brown in AA. There are some who believe he should be in AAA, if not Philly.

Thanks! I'll have to check out that album. Other than the Elizabeth Smart incident I didn't know about any of these things that have happened in Mormondom (Is that a word? It is today anyway!). Maybe this Joseph Smith fellow was an egomaniac charlatan who came up with "revelations from god" everytime he fancied adding a new depravity to his lifestyle. He preyed on the desperate and he certainly had a shady background before he had his "visions." I understand alot of this book focuses on the extreme element of Mormonism, and I'm all for people believing what that they like; but if your religion
