Neil can still deliver the goods. I saw him in Dublin in June for the 6/7th time and he was just amazing.

I saw the Pixies twice in their heyday and twice on the reunion tour. The 2 shows on the reunion tour were dreadful. No spirit in the performance at all. They were just running through the tunes for the money.

This is something I will definitely be investing in. One of my all time favourite albums.

Gotta agree there. Saw him live in Dublin on his first solo tour. As thrashed as I was at the gig his god awful singing was blatantly obvious.

Why pick a show from 1982 though? They were hardly at their peak. I am sure there are plenty of earlier shows they could have used. That said I'll still buy it.

Nope. I remember reading somewhere that they were getting ready to go back into the studio to record and Byrne made her audition with a couple of other players. Can't remember which album it was though. I will delve deeper and try to find a link.

Shes good but not that good. Didn't Byrne once make her audition for her own job when he was putting the band back together? My faves would be McCartney, The Ox, Les Claypool and Phil Lesh.

Good Lord yes! I've lost count of the amount of times I've been relaxing listening to the GD get into a nice jam only to have Donna start caterwauling over the top it.

Saw them a few years ago in the Olympia in Dublin. Damn fine gig. We were in the venue early as my friend was taping and wanted to get a good spot. The venue was only half full when they came on stage to soundcheck. The played one or two tunes, had a quick chat with a few of us and then left the stage again. They came back on about 3/4 of a hour later and blew the place apart. An amazing gig.

If its any consolation I bought my first new release of the year at the weekend. Picked up the new Kings of Leon. Not bad so far.

Claire Torry is her name. I gotta go with Daltrey on Won't Get Fooled Again. Saw whats left of The OO in Ireland last year and he nailed the scream. The venue shook. The intro to Kick out the Jams is a close second for me though.

Hadn't someone put a bunch of pills into that huge bottle of Canadian Club they were all drinking from? In one shot you can see the capsules melting in the bottom of the bottle. They were all pretty messed up.

The scene with Danko, Jerry Garcia, Bob Weir and Janis jamming is great. I've never seen anyone as messed up as Danko was in that scene.
