  1. It is a fun little deal you have there...creative, and to use the parlance of our times, "outside the box"... but really, no. No way. In practical terms, they will be doing this for a long time because it is their jobs and they are still VERY good at it. IMHO, better than ever. Taking the band part out of it and just looking at it as a career for a second... if you are lucky enough to do what you love and get paid for it, would you quit? It sure seems these guys enjoy what they are doing, so why quit? Still an interesting theory nonetheless. When I was in college I loved all that Beatles "Paul is Dead" code stuff. If you haven't already, check out the music writer Chuck Klosterman. He writes a weird music theory here and there as well. Good books.

  2. I hope this is allowed, but I am one of those folks who buys all of his music... never downloaded an album off of the internet except on itunes, and considering I already pre-ordered my LP+CD+other stuff...why not? What site has good versions of the album? I REALLY have no idea how to do this....

Edit: I have downloaded Wilco shows before

  3. Chicago up 5-2 in the 3rd...wow. I smell a long series.

Yup. The Blackhawks look like they may be staying around for a while. They look unphased playing away from the UC. The game has changed so much over the years, but I have to say that this may be the best Blackhawks team I have ever seen, and I doubt they will take the cup. The late 80's early 90's teams were REALLY good at the ole' dump and chase, but this team is SO skilled. I see a squad that will very possibly win a cup in the next few years.

  4. Just heard them yesterday on KEXP driving back to Seattle from the Spokane show...I immediately bought the album. I'll put up a link later...the song that sold me is Bogachiel Rain Blues but I'm loving the rest of the album. They are compared to Gram Parsons and The Band, among others...

Glad I did a search. Yeah, good comparisons. Really good album. I think many VC folks would dig this album too. Fits right into that beloved alt country genre. Been listening to it a lot as of the last month or so. Never gets old and grabs you right away kinda like Blitzen Trapper's new one did for me as well. I would highly recommend this one to the board.

  5. Thanks for the input again. I went to Record Store Day at my local establishment with my first thought being that I was going to grab Nixon by Lambchop.... but they didn't have it, and then being further shackled by inventory I settled for "Lie Down in the Light" by Bonnie "Prince" Billy and "Hold Time" by M Ward. I've been listening to them fairly often since I picked them up and I really like them both quite a bit. They both fit different moods for me, so it is hard to pick one over the other, but in a pinch I'll take M Ward. His music is "Cool" you know? BPB music is more "pretty". That sounds super hokey. Anyway, to further state unsolicited opinions, "You Want That Picture" by BPB and "For Beginners" by M Ward are my favorite tunes so far. I think I'll have to jump on iTunes and grab Nixon (yes, I still pay for all my music) even though I prefer supporting my local economy.
