  1. Wisconsin likely to shut down today. Permitted to go to exercise (run, walk), doctor, pharmacy, grocery and liquor stores (cannabis not legal here).

My question - is playing singles tennis permitted?

In San Francisco (maybe all of California? I've lost track), tennis is NOT permitted.

  2. Sarah, I think I remember when you started there!  So sorry to hear this.  Take a day to be sad/cheer yourself up, then yes, file for unemployment ASAP.  You know they value you if you were there that long, I'm sure they'll take you back as soon as they can.

  3. after trying for over 2 weeks, i'm finally getting tested today. i pointed out that it would seem logical to test at risk people with some of the symptoms. the testing situation in seattle is still dire.

Yes, very glad to hear this.

Idiots.  I would be terrified if I (or a loved one) were a senior living near a spring break community.  This is when martial law starts sounding somewhat reasonable.

My nephew got sent home from his college last weekend.  As you might imagine, kids being told that they have to clear out by the end of the week, and won't be back this term, aren't very good at practicing social distancing...  :yeaahh

  4. It is kind of curious to me that I’ve received e-mails from seemingly every entity under the sun, but yet haven’t heard a peep from either the band or the venues/promoters about shows that seem almost certain to be postponed at the very least...

Agreed!  And the info on the venues' websites isn't consistent either.

This is pretty clear that all events are cancelled at the San Jose Civic until 4/1:  https://www.sanjoseca.gov/news-stories/news/emergency-notifications  Kind of crazy that it's not on the venue's website yet (they list some shows as cancelled, but not others).

Yeah, I was definitely expecting an e-mail from either Wilco or Ticketmaster by now.

  5. Since I was gumming up the "2020 Tour" thread with my stressing out about this...  :rolleyes

    Seattle is cancelled.

    Oakland is cancelled.

San Jose is *probably* cancelled (this one isn't officially announced yet, but the county has prohibited events with more than 1,000 people for the next three weeks).

San Francisco is NOT cancelled YET.  The city has prohibited events of more than 1,000 people for the next two weeks, at least.  The show at the Fillmore is three weeks out.

(note:  I'm saying "cancelled" even though some of these are officially listed as "postponed".)

I haven't seen anything about any of the other west coast shows, but I wouldn't be surprised.

  6. the official announcement was only an hour ago. i'm sure there will be something later in the day from Seattle Theater Group.

Not just the Seattle show, I meant the whole west coast, or at least the Seattle and bay area shows.  There are currently 99 over 100 cases in the bay area, including 43 45 in Santa Clara County (where San Jose is), and it was reported today that 3 TSA agents at the San Jose airport have tested positive.  The county just yesterday ordered no gatherings of more than 1,000 for the next three weeks, so I guess that'll do it for that show.

(And of course, this is all happening very quickly.  As I'm typing this, I'm seeing a news notification on my phone that the Warriors will be playing without fans...)

  7. Odds are the Sunday 3/29 San Jose show will be postponed.  I emailed the theater and they said the promoter is working on rescheduling for later this year.

As for when I don't know.  But since there are open dates between Europe and the Wilco/SK tour, which opens in Spokane on 8/6, I wouldn't be surprised if it was the week of 8/2.

the governor of washington is going to ban all public gatherings over 250 people today. sports, concerts, etc. so, the 2 seattle shows are definitely off.

Selfish take: if they're going to cancel the west coast run entirely I hope they just announce it already. I have until Saturday to get 50% back off my AirBnb.

I'm very surprised that there hasn't been an announcement about these yet.  Pearl Jam is already talking about how to get refunds from Ticketmaster.  I'm not even looking for my money back at this point, I'm just worried that people are actually still planning to go!

  8. Of course, really  hope I don't have the damn virus! am under very specific direction from my doctor. I have some symptoms but not all of them. Due to lack of testing capacity, they aren't testing me yet. That could change very quickly. If I get worse I'm to call doc immediately & will be tested. Fingers crossed. Everyone, be safe & well out there.

Wow, so sorry to hear this.  :(   I'm still waiting to hear about the shows in San Francisco the Bay Area.  The city has closed down all events at city-owned venues for the next two weeks, all performances for the symphony and ballet are cancelled, the St. Patrick's Day parade is cancelled...  We haven't been hit as hard as Seattle (yet), but yeah, I'm hoping everyone is taking the most sensible precautions for their own situations.

  9. Had Warren done the same, it would have helped Sanders but not to same extent.

The thing that has surprised me most about this election has been learning, mostly over the past few days, how many of my Warren-supporting friends had Biden as their second choice.  Several people I know decided that Warren probably wasn't going any further, and voted for Biden on Super Tuesday.  I don't know that if she had dropped out prior to Tuesday that it would have helped Sanders all that much.

  10.

    Please describe the SF tuxedo?

    This depends on the decade!

Ooops. Mixing up with the two Oakland shows, which in my rudimentary geographical understanding of the US... it is essentially the same thing as San Fran (right?) not to mention the two Vic shows which just got announced as well. I guess in my head, I just assumed these were two shows. Plus I should never be posting just before bed, BAD idea. I am, as always, NOT in the know on anything.  :frusty

Here is a genuine Canadian apology: sorry.

As someone who lives in SF and works in Oakland, they're far enough apart to make my commute a major pain.  :no  (I was spoiled for years working in SF, while most of my co-workers commuted in from the east bay, so now I'm getting a taste of my own medicine!)  And the Fillmore is an easy bus ride from home, while the Oakland shows... are about six blocks from my office, so the commute to those is still a major pain!  :P

  11. Will you wear a San Franciscan tuxedo in their honor? B)

    (I’ll be here all night...)

That probably means something different than it would have meant a few years ago.  :pirate   Now I think it's cargo shorts and a hoodie, so... maybe!!

Another night added in Oakland, March 28...

  13. Yes, I'm yelling.

The site is due for renewal.  Solace asked YEARS AGO that we get someone else to be the tech brains behind this outfit.  No one has stepped up yet.

I'm getting ready to renew the site within the next week.  It would be great if someone else with tech savvy would make themselves available to take a look at what we currently have, if we need to update anything, etc.  Generally, the only other tech help we need is occasionally the server needs to be reset.  I could probably do that one myself, but I would much rather have someone who isn't just "following the instructions" but actually knows what they're doing when it needs to be done.  Also, it doesn't need to be done that often, but when it does need resetting, the site is down and people freak out, so we just need someone on call for that once-a-year-or-so occurrence.

    Thank you!!
