The last one, for reference:
I'm really getting into this:
Started "The Flame Throwers" by R. Kushner this morning. I may dump it for E. Leonards "Be Cool". We'll see.
Great new collection of short stories by Tom Perrotta.
Thanks for posting that - I just added it to my library queue. He keeps getting better.

not at a Wilco concert, but he "apparently" posted here as Radio Kills. I witnessed him being extremely inebriated at a show, with his then mate Susan Sarandon by his side and trying to hold him up. when I vaguely mentioned it here, without actually mentioning his name mind you, I received a nasty PM from Radio Kills about it. people can believe me or not, but I still think it was him.
I had never heard this story before! But I love it.

His mother "says she and her son call themselves huggers". As an avowed non-hugger, it's astonishing to me how many huggers feel that their "right" to hug me takes precedence over my right to not be hugged. I don't know what his past disciplinary problems were, but it seems likely he's been warned about this previously.

Yummy.
Warn your kids. I take excellent care of my teeth, but that first visit still wasn't fun.

When I was going to get my wisdom teeth out, the dentist told me that he could do it with just novocaine, that I didn't need to be put under unless I was really going to freak out. I told him yeah, I might freak out. So, he's pulling the first tooth, I can hear it cracking and I panic and start to hyperventilate. The good news is, I only swallowed the tooth; apparently inhaling a tooth is a much bigger deal.
Anyway, I didn't go back to a dentist for about 10 years after that...

As was mentioned, just one repeated song over the two nights.
Wish I could have made it to Night 2! I'm happy with what I got, though. Glad you all had fun!

PM sent.

is the bible your favorite book?
If we were on a specifically Christian message board, I'd guess that a lot of people would say yes to that.
But we're on a pop music message board, so...

A very sweet show. Some minor talk-back from the crowd, but nothing disruptive. Lots of singing-along, in a good way (non-shouty!). Quite a few songs I hadn't heard solo before, and every one was a gem. And there was definitely a taper there.

I have one extra ticket, and can meet you outside the show. Will PM you now.

Daniel Day Lewis
close the thread, please.
so far this seems like the front-runner.
I seriously don't know why this thread wasn't locked after this:Percentage-wise you have to go with John Cazale. He was in five movies before he died of cancer: Godfather, The Conversation, Godfather II, Dog Day Afternoon, and Deer Hunter. They were all nominated for Best Picture.

I've got two extra tickets for the solo show at the Fillmore on Wednesday. Face+fees+shipping = $122, I'll take $100 for the pair.
Please PM or reply here with an e-mail address or number where I can text you.

Hi, PM me if you're still looking for tickets.

I have heard it used as a verb, by several different people. Doesn't mean it's technically correct, but it's in semi-common usage.
I don't think it's unreasonable to speculate on whether the Tweedys will continue to put this much time and effort into supporting a school once their kids don't attend any more. Most people I know quit the PTA once their kids graduate. Also, their support translates to shows that people on this board attend, so I can understand the interest in whether or not those shows might continue.
Also, the Tweedy kids have been in the public eye for a while, their parents seem to be pretty OK with that, so a comment about when they might be out of that school doesn't seem out of line.
But for some reason... yeah, I'm a little icked by the bar mitzvah mention. Even if it's a known thing, it's seems a little personal for us to be discussing here.

I saw the setlist on FB that included "Anniversary" and was hoping so hard that Jeff had covered Tony Toni Tone.

Please check your PMs.

white lights on a small holly tree in the yard, and white icicle lights inside the screened in deck.
colored for the tree inside, much to my wife's chagrin. our tree has looked pretty much exactly the same for the past 20 years, and I wouldn't have it any other way. That's Murphy guarding the tree, btw.
We normally just have white lights, but that sure is pretty.

It appears we need a mod to merge threads. Thanks!

Remember to breathe, gogo.
Ha!
I went about six months this year where I didn't read anything (can't really say why), and now I feel like I'm gulping a big glass of water after being so very thirsty.

Just finished Volumes 4, 5, and 6 in the Jack of Fables graphic-novel series. I'm looking forward to getting back to the non-Jack Fables, I'm just not too crazy about him as a character.
Also:
Interesting, but not as compelling as her memoir, which I highly recommend:
