cant wait for this record.. ive heard 3 of the tunes and theyre all pretty great. makes me want to actually buy their other records. i find it weird i dont own them.
-
i think the new song is great, its less "slapped-actress-ish," which is what i think they meant in those interviews.
its similar, but seems fresh. i cant wait for the new record
-
"were gonna take the sub..."
is it just me, or was that a bad ending? definitely didnt warrant the dramatic music. i feel the last few episodes have been tame, and next weeks should be a crazy "wtf" episode. cant wait.

i am looking forward to:
the hold steady - heaven is whenever
jakob dylan - women and country
the national - high violet

im sure someone said it by now, dear john by ryan adams and the cardinals.

Wow, tonight's episode was simply stunning and amazing. I'm still letting it sit in my mind. I'll probably watch it a 2nd time in a little bit.
Anyways, here is something that I got at Lostpedia re:

i just read that he recorded shootenanny as a "break" from blinking lights.. how crazy is that?
-
i love how pitchfork bashes all these records i like. it makes me feel like i know something they dont. but yeah, thanks for the recommendations. ill probably cave in and buy them all eventually. 'numbered days' is really hitting it for me right now
-
okay, i have a question for all you eels fans. i love shootenanny. really like that record. however, its the only one i physically own. what comes next? theres so many.
also, this isnt like "whats the best eels record, man?" nor is it what comes chronologically next. its like "well, if you dug shootenanny, you should definitely check out ____________."

pearl jam and neil would be awesome. i hope the faces would get back together and do it. even if it is sorta bogus without ronnie lane. they can get that japanese guy.
-
As tax deadbeats they like to stay off the grid.
a wilco tax evasion scandal would be awesome
but yeah, it is sorta weird theres no mailing address.
-
i know a lot of people on this board get pissed off about this sort of thing, but i was wondering where one would send old fashioned fan (snail) mail to wilco. has anyone ever sent them something? i couldnt find anything on their website. im hoping they have a p.o. box or something.
-
i had a great listen to (the album) today. i put it aside for a while, but now its back strong. i thought of three things while listening to it.
not comparing technical skill/style or anything, i feel jay bennett is to nels cline as bob stinson is to slim dunlap. if you think about it, its almost scary.
the drumming on the second verse of 'everlasting everything' proves glenn kotche is a genius.
and most of nels' solos begin with those quick hammer ons like at the beginning of 'impossible germany.'
-
just ask jhamm, and hell send them to you. hes cool that way.
-
when this album gets it right, man, it really gets it right. i have a whole new outlook on ben gibbard now. really cool record.

It's a good day!! Not to bother y'all with my shamelss plugs, but I just got an e-mail that our track "Another Invitation" is being featured at nodepression.com (#1 right now, but I don't know how long they sit there). Either way, yoo-hoo!!

-
i was there, it was awesome. i drove a few hours to see him. got the poster in my room. word.
-
this was my submission:
wilco make music.
sometimes, they like to play shows.
they ride in a bus.

would this count as a courtesy move album? also, does this mean there are other courtesy move albums out there we dont know about?

Is there any reason to believe Nora Guthrie has any idea who Uncle Tupelo was?
uncle tupelo is one of the most important american bands ever.
-
personally, i think nora might be trying to stir the tupelo pot a bit. im sure she heard 'okemah and the melody of riot' and had the idea or something like that. that being said, im glad jay gets a shot too. i always pictured him being secretly bummed wilco got to do it.

this is pretty huge news. i leave for a little while, and this happens? sheeet.
