  1. I was in North Adams last night!  It was great to be there... had a few beers at a nice little place called the Freight Yard Pub... Luckily my mother-in-law lives in Pittsfield so I don't have to worry about hotels... leave the kiddos there and my wife and I have a blast at the festival... I went solo the first two years and had my wife with me at the last one

  2. Deer Tick would be great and the Felice Brothers.  Phospherescent (Matthew Houck) would fit in nicely as well.  Can't wait for the announcements to begin.  As much as I would love Mavis too, she has already played the festival and it seems they aren't repeating artists just yet... I hope I'm wrong b/c I love seeing Jeff and Mavis together

The guy still has it... I thought it was a great show.  High energy and and great backing band.  A few of the original Silver Bullet Band members are still with him.  He mentionoed it was his first time in Albany, which I found surprising.  He acknowledged Woody Guthrie, but not Wilco before California Stars.  Good reaction to it from the audience, most of whom had probably never heard it.  J Geils opened and also sounded pretty good.  A fun Tuesday night in Albany.

  4. What a beautiful version of Box Full of Letters… had heard it before a long time ago… love the slow version.  Also love the Bennett era Cali Stars that rocks and the Can't Stand It… as for songs I hadn't heard before, I really enjoyed One Hundred years From Now

  5. A few thoughts from the show… an early shred session for Nels on Ashes - that is one of his best songs… An especially mesmerizing Laminated Cat… Radio Cure is such a great live tune… A nice surprise was That's Not the Issue in the second encore - love that tune… Great to hear two of my requests with Someday Soon and Pot Kettle Black… Awesome time and great venue

  6. Great, loud bar band... fun times

  7. Good choice, I forgot about that one. It has such a nice intimate feel, sounds great on headphones & beautiful guitar.

I would also vote for Thanks I Get, especially when it's done live with The Total Pros.

Yep... I love the version from Tipitinas I have with the Total Pros!!

  8. Is Jeff the first musician to do this? My buddy who is the drummer for Clap Your Hands Say Yeah just told me that the lead singer, Alec, is doing the same thing this winter. I don't think his are for charity the way Jeff's are, but I'm wondering if he stole Jeff's great idea with these intimate shows?
