  1. It seemed loud to me too... although in Essex Junction there was some ridiculously loud bass during Art of Almost that you could feel all through your body... and it wasn't as intense last night. There was a father and young son near me and they were covering their ears a lot, which I found amusing
  2. Very cool night... Magazine was great to hear and first time I've heard Capitol City, which was cool.... I also thought Box Full of Letters was exceptionally good. I just drove 1.5 hours home and didn't listen to a single song... Wilco's music was still ringing in my ears!
  3. I agree about Jeff's guitar... also, Pat rips it on Handshake which I never noticed before. That was only my second time seeing Too Far Apart and it was the highlight for me too...
  4. There is an official setlist posted on the Wilco facebook page, but Late Great isn't there... that was a last minute add on by Tweedy... he walked around the stage telling the other guys and they busted into it... incredible concert
  5. Incredible night of music... you could really see that the band was enjoying themselves and they were very appreciative towards the audience... more so than usual in my experience. Jeff's sister was there and he told some funny stories about her dressing him up as a girl when he was young... and that is why he is so feminine. It was funny. At the end of the show, Jeff said "well, we did it... that's a rock n roll show" and man was he right. They rocked. A great show for those of us lucky enough to be there... small crowd... maybe 1,000 people if that. I'm sure this is out of order an

  9. As the person who started this thread and as someone who was a late-in-musical-life Dead convert, please check this one out! Anyone who likes American rock 'n' roll should appreciate Buddy Holly and his influence on future generations of musicians... The Dead completely ROCK this tune. Watch this starting at .25 seconds and you can't deny that this song rocks ...
  10. Check this one out... starts 45 second into the video
  11. Me too... they are the two bands that I listen to the most, by far. They are different for me in that I don't consider Wilco a jam band, but there is something that attracts my ear in a different way with the two bands compared to other bands. I love how both the Dead and Wilco can rock and captivate an audience with the mellow, poetic stuff... versatile, unique, entertaining and beautifully complex.
  12. Here is an excerpt from an interview with Bob Weir in 2010 Are there any contemporary jam bands that you think have the stuff that The Grateful Dead had? Is there anybody that you see out there that you admire? “Yeah, I’m a big fan of Wilco’s, for instance. I don’t so much care for their records as I love what they do live. Having played on the same bill with them a couple of times, I was dazzled. Aside from that, really, I don’t listen to a lot of current, contemporary music. And so I’m not the one to ask.” The entire interview can be read here: http://blogs.mcall.com/lehighvalleymusic/2010
