Am I the only one has a really hard time remembering names/details of movies, even those i loved, from years ago? For the record, I usually drink while watching a movie (though not especially heavily - of the 'splitting the bottle of wine' type).
Rachel Getting Married
500 Days of Summer (which I expected to HATE but really liked, but maybe that skews my recollection)
and, yeah, I cant remember the rest..... at least not right now

Prediction: Colts win 34-14.

She got the bipolar disease and quit acting.
Sad. But your Avatar is freaking me out. Looks too much like my wife watching me. It's like her doppleganger.
Funny you should say that, because that means I was just staring at, admiring, and thinking about how lovely your wife's breasts look. I filed them away; you can never take them from me now!

I'm REALLY late to the party here...but I am really becoming an avid fan.
Me, too. I think I prefer Funeral to NB, but it's so early that I'm not sure yet (just got into them a few weeks/month ago). I hope I get a chance to see them live, youtube clips look pretty mesmerizing.

Dude is shooting heroin directly into his MIND!

Hopefully they'll get a quarterback of the future either by trading for Donovan or picking up a better option than the Rosenfields/Jackson combo in the draft, though I'll never say never Favre probably only has a year left him if he comes back. I don't see them winning a Super Bowl with Chilly honestly, but the if the Celts can win it all with Doc Rivers anything is possible. I feel for you dude, I have been on your end of some nasty loses like that with my college team, WVU. The words "Neil" "O'Donnell" still haunt me to this day, but as a Steelers fan I have been pretty spoiled.

Thanks.
I agree. I'm hoping for Favre next year and draft a QBotF. No Favre and we need to go get someone who can win next year; this team has everything else, we just need that qb. ugh, I've slowly gotten past that game by not thinking about it; I think about it and I'm all disgrunteld postal worker. dammit.

Everyone seems to be assuming that the unpublished stuff will now be released. My hope is that the family follows his wishes -- whatever they were.
All I know is I saw a snippet of an article in which his daughter said he had organized what he had written under 2 categories, to be implimented upon his death: 1) ready for release, 2) needs editing before release.
Of course, this was some random thing I saw on the interweb, so I'm not assuming its water tight; I'm just hopeful.
Oh, found this article with some good info: http://www.dailyfinance.com/story/media/will-j-d-salingers-unpublished-manuscripts-be-published/19336253/
Still mostly speculation and the future of any manuscripts seems uncertain.

He may have been recluse for most of his adult life, but this small story shows that there was a lot more to him than that.
RIP.
Awesome. Goodness...
While a world without the author of the Catcher is a world worse off, I find it kind of beautiful that his reclusiveness coupled with his alleged productivity and the chance these works become released allow his death to be accompanied by some small amount of intrigue/excitement/positivity. I would do anything if the sadness surrounding my death could be accompanied by some happiness.

The key for the Jets is to shorten the game, the field and to stay injury and turnover free... Not looking for much hu?
BTW bad luck in Jets practice today. Rhodes banged up his knee. Swollen and heavily rapped. It's that f@#ken' SI Jinx i tell ya! Sanchez is the cover boy this week!
I can see the vegas line jumping a field goal!
fwiw I think they're doing regional covers of SI; I heard someone say the Vikes were on the cover.

uncool2pillow opens up the early lead with a perfect first round. Can you run the table? That would be magical.
Indy over Baltimore
San Diego over NYJ
Minnesota over Dallas
Arizona over New Orleans
IND over BAL
SD over NYJ
DAL over MIN
ARI over NO
I might change both my NFC picks later this weekend though. Those are tough, tough games.
I am in fact changing my NFC picks. I'm taking all four home teams this week. Because I think they're the better teams.
I can't and won't predict the MIN/DAL game. Too much at stake for me. Too biased to think rationally.
IND over BAL
SD over NYJ
NO over AZ
DAL over MIN
SD over NYJ
BAL over IND
NO over AZ
BAL over IND
NYJ over SD
ARI over NO
DAL over MIN
If I am wrong, I will submit my pinky toe to the board.
MIN over DAL
SD over NYJ
BAL over IND
AZ over NO
looks like a couple 3-1s, no perfection this week.
Conference Championships:
Indy over NYJ

Im generally a conservative person in many ways, but I recognize the (idyllic)necessity of health care for all. If Kennedy's former seat sinks health care it is a modern day Greek tragedy of epic proportions. Literally, it'd almost be cool to see, if only because you'd never see something as hugely ironic as this again in your life (if only Kennedy were still alive and could react!) Tragic!
All that said, I don't think this sinks health care, and thank God for that. If the house has to pass this immediately without changes, I really believe they will bite the bullet and do just that. However, this guy could go unseated for as long as 15 days, per Mass. election law (if what I read today was correct), so they could hustle through the House, back to the Senate... wait, nevermind, not enough time for that whole deal. Even if there were, Senator's have been seated without certificate of election by sympathetic colleagues before, and if that didn't happen this time and the House sent the bill back to the Senate and they passed it 23rd hour I would bet my left arm that the Rep.'s would take it all the way up the chain of the judicial system, where a conservative majority reigns.
ah, anyway, I love this stuff.

did a search for Arcade Fire, this was the first thread that popped up.
Uhm, why didnt anyone tell me about this band?!? My God, I have my next band obsession. These people are out of this world. Totally different than anything else I've heard in a long time, and so, so good. God. Wow.
-
That's why.
Unless you kept that bit of info to yourself. If not, next time keep it to yourself.
Being an obsessive poster on a band's message board comes off as unprofessional.
No one is telling you not to, go ahead if it makes you happy, just don't expect it to necessarily endear you to the band and their camp. Likely the opposite.
Just an FYI.
Welcome

Maybe.
Maybe not
It's the only reaction I've got. I own it.
I can respect that. Are you a Cowboys fan?
And what a spoiled bunch of no-composure wussies the Chargers were. They basically threw a temper tantrum over the course of the game when they realized the Jets weren't going to roll over. Norv Turner ought to be fired for allowing his team to lose focus like that. Shameful.
Always have been. Bunch of classless choke artists with bad attitudes. Rivers, LT, Merriman, Jackson, etc... I bask in the righteous glow of their demise every season. In fact, it's like is own natural season, same time every year. I'd compare it to spring for how much I enjoy Charger Choking season.

Not at all. However, I am confused as to why Childress wanted to run up the score. These teams didn't have a history of bad blood although they do now. I can't imagine that Childress could have had any ill feelings toward Wade Phillips, although I am sure it won't be the case for Phillips now.
I am just befuddled. The Vikings always impressed me as being a classy orginazation, and now, for what it's worth, I have a directly opposite opinion.
Generally,I have a very deep disappointment at the lack of respect shown for pro atheletes for their peers. It was evident today and is especially evident in the NHL.
One of the proudest moments I had as a fan of my alma mater is when we took a knee against Texas Tech instead of scoring one last, meaningless touchdown after YEARS of frustation.
I think you're overreacting. By, like, a LOT
-
Yes, I was upset with you about that. But no, this isn't superstitious. It's just that I can't think rationally about this game.
Its not even superstition, just flip a damn coin, man! Walkin away from a chance at immortality :shakeshead

IND over BAL

NO over AZ
No, You must! You're 4-0!
Is this a supserstitious thing? Are you one of those who was upset with me earlier this season for posting that the Vikings have what it takes to win the super bowl?
-
Oh man, should be 4 great games. You have the matchups in the AFC wrong though. Colts vs. Ravens, Chargers vs. Jets. My picks...
IND over BAL
SD over NYJ
DAL over MIN
ARI over NO
I might change both my NFC picks later this weekend though. Those are tough, tough games.
Stupid mistake. Thanks. Fixed.

I love Cutler's struggles; I've never liked the guy and hope he never realizes his potential. That said, I think he has potential and could still be good.

Speaking of Woody Allen (Sweet and Lowdown was posted yesterday. So, yeah.) I'd nominate Match Point. I think that got a modicum of attention, but not nearly enough praise. Much of the early dialogue was wooden, and Scarlett mostly just did Scarlett things (though I found it less annoying in Match Point - maybe I hadn't yet realized how gawd awful she was?); but the Johnathten rhyis-myerers guy (not even gonna try to spell it - isn't it oddly spelled?) was good, as were the detectives, the chick he married and her whole family - and the last 45 minutes were just mind-bendingly awesome! I also got off on the parallels with Crimes and Misdemeanors and Crime and Punishment. Or maybe I just like good Woody too much...
Not to throw in a controversy bomb, but The Passion of the Christ was one of the most well done movies I've ever seen. Though is it underrated? I think it won some awards (yeah, imdb says it won a bunch of bull$hit awards and was, IMO, mostly snubbed by the Oscars - which was a shock.........).. but you never hear it mentioned in the media (at least those media I consume) or by cinefiles (at least those cinefiles I consume). Mel Gibson, blah blah, yeah, I cant really blame anyone for ignoring it - but then people want to sit and praise Roman Polanski... I guess thats a hollywood issue though. I'm done now.
