Merch table was hopping ( at least between NL and Wilco) and they were accepting credit cards.

Thx for the setlist, bbop. Maybe we'll get "One Sunday Morning" for the encore tonight.
"Poor Places" > "Reservations" was fantastic. I was half expecting "Spiders" next, too, and was just as happy with "BBN".
There's a good chance I'm wrong but I don't think Jeff addressed the crowd until they were 9 songs in, following "She's A Jar", to joke about the flubbed lyrics. It was a great pace.
"Art of Almost" as the opener was perfect. Loved how Jeff starts off on vocals only, clutching his mic stand, shuffling/weaving between lines.
Not sure what the person just in front of Jeff was complaining about. I can't imagine what else he/she was expecting or wanted. As Loneliness Fighter expressed above (and far better than I'm capable of) the band was on fire and hammering one song after another. I think it was just after "Dawned On Me" (and right before a smoking "War On War") that Jeff said something along the lines of, "C'mon? What do you mean, 'C'mon?'
Bring it! You're the one sitting down!" Exactly! -

And a shoutout to our VC friend, Tinnitus Photography, I'm looking at a nice montage of Solid Sound 2010 photos in my office, matted and framed around the program. He's got great photos if you're in the need.
I second that shoutout. We've got some of his SS2 photos up in our apartment. Really great stuff.

Well with the reaction it's getting if they do the online request thing again, One Sunday Morning will certainly be in demand.
I requested it for both Massey Hall shows. Right now "OSM" and "Whole Love" are my favourite tracks. Opposite ends of the emotional spectrum. And I love how one follows the other to bring the record to a close.

...this is the sound of musicians in complete command of their art. Beautiful, lush and forward.
Several listens in, this is exactly how I feel.
One Sunday Morning is so pretty it makes my heart hurt.
Yes, and I can't stop listening to it. Jeff has never sounded better.

Accomplishments: New job.
Big End-of-Summer Plans: Keep new job.
Me, too! I hope your's is going well.
2. I've always wanted to get in shape, and this is how I'm going to do it. The training began in May and the marathon is less than a month away. I was never a runner before this, so I was definitely starting from scratch. In July, I finished a half-marathon in 1:59....just 30 minutes before they stopped runners because it was so hot and humid. My goal for the marathon is 4 hours.
Great story. If you finished a half last month in under 2h under tough conditions, I think you'll do fine. I've been running since first year university, after having put on the "freshman 15." I was never a good runner and always had to train really hard just to be mediocre. Never did attain my sub-4 goal (did I mention I'm a mediocre runner!) but had a lot of fun trying. Good luck next month. Which race?

looking for a really great quality version of Spiders Solo. I heard the Hawaii bootleg and he opened up with it, and I loved it. It's much shorter and too the point. I don't think even the acoustic Wilco version was like that. But im not crazy about the sound quality. Can anyone recommend a show/track to download off Wilco Archive?
Check out Jeff's second show at the Vic this year. Great version of "Spiders"

Just got home from the MMJ show at the Orpheum. Total heaviosity!
Most of the new stuff was pretty good live. But it was the pre-"Evil Urges" stuff (with the exception of "Smokin' From Shootin'" and "I'm Amazed") that made the show.

When the crowd kept "Radio Cure" alive when lightning (?) temporarily took out the PA and lights Friday night.

Thanks for the setlist, u2roolz and bbop!
Born To Die Alone (also sounded great. obviously much different than Jeff solo)
This was the highlight of the night for me, love the full band version. "Hotel AZ" was a close second!
I know there's no chance, but how bout no repeats
tonight....a man can dream
I think there's a pretty good chance we won't hear any repeats tonight. Stay dry everyone!

I swear I'm the most conflicted MMJ fan (maybe that means I'm not a real fan). I just can'y put my finger on how I feel about them. Great live show, and It Still Moves is a statement. However a lot of their recorded output sounds like amateur hour in terms of sound/production.
I think this is where not having a very sophisticated ear when it comes to production actually works for me! I love "At Dawn" and "The Tennessee Fire", the records that seem to draw the most criticism regarding production/sound.
There are only 3 or 4 songs on "Circuital" that I really like and don't skip. I hope that this will change after hearing some of the others live at the end of the month (3 days after Solid Sound!)

Their brutish fans beating the crap out of Vancouver fans?
Seriously? Harsh.
The husband and I are prolly the only Vancouverites who aren't big hockey fans although it's been difficult to not get excited about the Canucks and their playoff run.
We fly into Boston Monday in advance of Solid Sound. Whether the Canucks win or lose, I'm thinking we'll keep our hometown roots hush-hush!

I hope you're OK. My mom suffered a pulmonary embolism following routine knee-replacement surgery. Fortunately, it occurred soonafter coming out of surgery so the post-op staff were all over her as soon as the symptoms appeared. She takes a blood-thinner now, Coumadin, and has her blood tested every two weeks. Otherwise, she's been fine. I hope you're on the mend.
You, too, Analogman! Vibes for a speedy recovery.

I heard this joke today. It's kinda funny, even to us folks here in Vancouver.
Q. What time is it in Boston?
A. Twelve past Luongo

Not sad, just beautiful:

When you hear a great song in the most unlikely of places. This morning I heard "Bloodbuzz Ohio" at Steve Nash Fitness World which is notorious for its bad music! Yay!
-
I haven't seen Jeff walking around but the dad from Arrested Development (Jeffery Tambor) was in front of us at a Whole Foods check out once.
He was good in this:
-
Perhaps we'll get to hear a new song or two with the full lineup during this:
Not if Pat winds up in jail we won't.
Subpoenaed in Texas, Sequestered in Memphis?

Fleet Foxes at The Vogue Theatre!

I don't have any problems with this list. I might slightly reorder things and replace a couple songs -- but it's a pretty good representation of what makes Wilco great.
I think they did a pretty good job, too. I would probably replace Wilco (The Song), Casino Queen and HMD with Hotel Arizona, Pot Kettle Black and Hell is Chrome.
