  1. It is amazing. This is the second re-master series for them - is that right? I don't think anyone has beat the number of times Elvis Costello has re-issued his catalog though.
  2. There was a time when Ozzy use to throw chucks of meat into the audience. Also, he learned that sign from his Grandmother. It does not really have anything to do with Satan, per se. I believe they need to hire better researchers.
  3. I can't believe it's open to the public. They are going to be overran by hessian dudes and Anton LaVey freaks.
  4. I was wondering - it's been a long time since I listened to that cd.
  5. There is a live version of Toys In The Attic on that album R.E.M.: In the Attic – Alternative Recordings 1985–1989. I don't know what tour it is from though.
  6. I have not heard anything so far.
  7. It seems to be mentioned in about every interview I've read with him.
  8. That is what I was thinking. I have always read that the making of that album, and their stay in England was quite unpleasant. I don't think I have listened to an R.E.M. album for a long time, but that one I could handle.
  9. Lefsetz on Dio: The Last In Line He should have posted the video - because it is awesome:
  10. Don Was Revisits 'Exile On Main Street' I am listening to some FLAC files that someone gave me. The tracks are definitely running at a different speed now. Also, you can hear the bass. I'd say my first thought is that there is more depth to the sound, instead of the flatness of past versions. It may be a tad too bright sounding though. It's neat they left some tape hiss in there.
  11. There were some preview tracks posted at some point. I have no interest in buying it. He must be paying for all of this himself.
  12. I noticed some PJ shows appeared on bt.etree.org today.
  13. Black Sabbath Deluxe Editions I love all of that jazz jamming on the first album. That is one of the reasons it is my favorite. I have an original pressing of it on vinyl.
  14. I'd agree about the first side of Sabotage. On Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, I really like A National Acrobat, Spiral Architect, and Sabbra Cadabra. You know shit is weird when Bill Ward gets a song on the album. Guns N' Roses use to cover It's Alright. Never Say Die! is better than Technical Ecstasy, that's for sure. You know the story about Live Evil - which is why Ronnie left the first time.
  15. Tony's message. More messages from various bands and artists (posted in a thread at Black Sabbath.com)
  16. Taper's Section (May 17 - May 23, 2010)
  17. I think I paid around 15 bucks each for those cds.
  18. It's junk, really. At least the ABCKO re-masters sound pretty good, and are at the right speed. I saw a headline a while back somewhere that stated he had lost millions of dollars last year.
  19. They were re-mastered once before: Rolling Stones Wikipedia entry And then again last year - March 2, 2009, New York, NY - Universal Music Group are pleased to announce the reissue of the Rolling Stones re-mastered, post-1971 studio albums into the market throughout 2009 starting in May. I think the next thing with be a Sticky Fingers deluxe release.
  20. A nice post from Eddie Trunk. One of my favorite songs from the Ian Gillan period: Born Again
  21. The sound is weird on that album. And of course, it all fell apart again, when Ozzy called and wanted them to play at his so-called last show. Ronnie said no thanks, and who did the show? Rob Halford, of course.
  22. I think there are some good songs on Technical Ecstasy and Never Say Die. It's just that they changed their sound, so they are a different trip. That can be said of Sabbath Bloody Sabbath and Sabotage also. I'd say my favorites are Black Sabbath, and Vol. 4. Not that there is anything wrong with Paranoid, or Master of Reality. The Rainbow albums he was on were Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow (1975), Rainbow Rising (1976), On Stage (1977), and Long Live Rock 'n' Roll (1978). The only Dio solo albums I ever really heard were Holy Diver (1983), The Last in Line (1984), and Sacred Heart (1985).
