  1. I never knew that - I don't care for that dude or the band he was in for that matter. I wonder why she picked Jim Kelter over Martin Chambers.
  2. I wish it could be what you had in mind. We should have a thread called Wilco - Songs in Movies and Television Shows or something like that.
  3. You already have a thread to put down Neil Young albums - right?
  4. I've never really heard a Pretenders album past Learning to Crawl. 1980
  5. Looks like Rolling Stone is jumping in: A closer look at the life and career of John McCain reveals a disturbing record of recklessness and dishonesty
  6. They do some Dead song in the Freak 'n' Roll...Into the Fog: The Black Crowes All Join Hands, The Fillmore, San Francisco DVD - I forget which one though. Plus - they have played some Dead tunes over the years.
  7. Odd - I bet we are among the few around here that do not own an iPod. I only listen to music when I am front of the computer really - at home it is cds, FLAC files, and Mp3 files - if that is the only way I can get something. 8. I don't recall such a thing in his book - but LB found something I see. I'd rather talk about how great The Stones are, instead of adhering to the subject of yet another negative thread. LOL
  9. If you read and believe his book, he actually helped write several songs, and did not receive credit for them.
  10. We had something like that happen here where I work once - it turned out to be some JC freak leaving packages in various mail rooms around campus.
  11. Someone has a copy of Volume 1 on Ebay right now - starting at 5 bucks: The Deadhead's Taping Compendium (Volume 1)
  12. His version of Ship of Fools can be found on various record releases, most recently, on the extended version of Kojak Variety (I think). They spent time together around the period when he made Mighty Like A Rose. Elvis has also talked about seeing The Grateful Dead at the Bickershaw Festival in 1972.
  13. For 60 bucks - you can get a signed copy of Ryan's book in December (it actually comes out in April).
  14. Terrorists, Secessionists, Sarah Palin and Guilt by Association
  15. I forgot to add the link. I think we have to remember that most people don't know the sort of information we readily know - someone in the crowd probably told the guy that it was Nebraska. Huffington Post Link to above post. There is more up now - with video.
  16. Also - Bobby Whitlock, Carl Radle, and Jim Gordon - pretty great backing band.
  17. I don't collect Replacements shows, so I don't know if this is a rare find, or something everyone has, but I just noticed this show up at dime a dozen: Link There are actually quite a few Replacements shows being seeded there right now.
