They did. I have always guessed they decided they no longer wanted to be around each other or some such thing. -
We actually prefer couches and furniture now. That dude that jumped on stage probably thought he was in a Pearl Jam video, circa 199something.

There is a great article/interview with them in an issue of No Depression - around the time of Roots that may help you out. I can't recall the issue # - maybe LB would know. For me, these guys are right up there with The Jayhawks, Uncle Tupelo, and Freakwater. -
