Tales of A Traveler is way different from the first two - production wise. Roots is an album of public domain songs - Tonight. . . is a live album.

There is a great article/interview with them in an issue of No Depression - around the time of Roots that may help you out. I can't recall the issue # - maybe LB would know. For me, these guys are right up there with The Jayhawks, Uncle Tupelo, and Freakwater.
