  1. I was about 5 rows of people away from front and center stage, and I couldn't see Nels Cline because there were several 6'2+ dudes all in my line of sight of Nels and Mikael Jorgenson so I focused on watching Pat more often than usual. It was kind of disappointing that one of the stage girls didn't get the hint from Pat on what the rhythm for California Stars was, but I'm pretty sure everyone inside the theater felt good about the entire night of reciprocations. I don't think you totally understand how bit torrent works.
  2. The real question is why were people voting Spiders? Maybe this is my game theory sense tingling but you vote for things you want to hear that you normally don't hear, right? If a song is guaranteed, don't vote for it.
  3. Every non-Wilco (The Album) song played at the ROMT has already been played at the Chicago residency in 2008. In A Future Age was played at the Fox Theater about two years ago at least and Summer Teeth saw some action in setlists last year. Reservations is played pretty sparsely presently.
  4. I'm listening to it again. At first, I thought it was a retreat to Gallowsbird's Bark but now I realize this is Fiery Furnaces' actual stab at,... accessible music (shock and gasps). There's a different kind of depth in I'm Going Away. And it sounds like a beautiful child born from Gallowsbird's Bark and Bitter Tea. My admiration for this album is slowly blossoming. Current rank: Blueberry Boat > EP >= Gallowsbird's Bark > I'm Going Away > Bitter Tea > Widow City > Rehearsing My Choir. Previously: Menomena - I Am The Fun Blame Monster
  5. I heard a track from this on NPR and it sounded very interesting.

  7. Calming eeriness of driving 1 mile away from I-75 tanker explosion with Riceboy Sleeps. Not bad so far.
  8. Getting on The Dodos train. Hold on, let me eliminate all previous comparisons with Animal Collective.
  9. Getting better all the time. I thought The Rural Alberta Advantage were on the Arts & Crafts label. How discriminatory is that?

  12. Shocked by much of the board's dislike for Company In My Back and Wishful Thinking. Company In My Back has a skeletal beauty similar to She's A Jar with excellent arranagements. 13. Still not sure how to describe their music. The range goes from very quiet to very loud. Also, lead singer makes me think of Karen O from Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
  14. UUVVWWZ - UUVVWWZ Dear double U double V double W Z, your band name is difficult to pronounce. Don't make it more difficult to search/access your band.
  15. EDIT: Fun times. Go go drummer!
  16. This is why I believe it's a given, in Michigan (and in most Wilco shows). Also, looking forward to hearing Sonny Feeling, but they haven't played that as much.
  17. There's no judgement of the song. But after about four years of continuous play of that song, you'd think Wilco would have integrated the song into the eternal canon, would you not?
  18. Finally saw Wilco (The Commercial) during a commercial break on Adult Swim. Awkward.
