The album is pretty good and very enjoyable, but Dominoes gets repetitive, quickly. What else did 4AD publish beside The Big Pink's A Brief History Of Love, St. Vincent's Actor, and Dark Was The Night. I haven't heard the new Mountain Goats and Atlas Sound's Logos (but assume it can't be awful because Bradford Cox is doing a good job so far). I suppose three good albums is not bad although I've been on and off on Dark Was The Night.

The Big Pink - A Brief History Of Love

I could picture why a lot of people would be totally turned off by the pitch thrown. It's a lot of vocal discord.

UPDATE: I really like this.

Haven't shopped there in a long time. Both of the Record Time stores were equidistant from my residence. Now one of them is gone. Maybe I'll make an excuse to have lunch at Pizza Papalis.

Are you talking about the place on Michigan Avenue next to Rio Wraps and Pizza Papalis?

Not waiting for 2002, but I never had expectations for the next album. Nonetheless, I consider Wilco (The Album) a pretty good album. Artists have learned to age and keep their refreshing spontaneity in their music (see Sonic Youth, Yo La Tengo, maybe the Fall is more fitting for our example since they keep changing line-ups). Also, I don't see any light in I'll Fight (insert What Light joke here so we can move on) that the rest of you like.

I don't think those comparisons say much for your argument. But,... all Oasis learned to do was copy the Beatles and Stone Roses and call it their own. It's easy to be vague, thus appeal to radio listeners with broad non-specific lyrics. Other British bands of that decade like Blur and Radiohead took observations of English life and made excellent music while acknowledging the detailed troubles of the world. Furthermore, it doesn't help the credibility of halftheworldaway that he/she can not spell or bother to even use the auto-spell check implemented in the forum. In fact, I've seen a lo

Do want to hear, but don't want to touch iTunes.

Hitler didn't get the memo that the Verve split up (like Oasis) (again).

So this is what you just implied... If AGIB/SBS does not sound like element A, people will not like AGIB/SBS. AGIB/SBS sounds like element B. --- Since AGIB/SBS sounds like element B, they do not like AGIB/SBS. By the way, I can say a majority of the songs are bad, but I can't use any examples because you're being vague. And yes, lack of change following a consistent change in directions is considered change. I definitely hear a change in the way the vocals are done on Wilco (The Album). There's a more confidant groove in the entire album. There's nothing wrong with mixing a bunch of

Great tension-building guitar solos

Way to beat the dead bird. Oh, I get the dead pun. Ha. Ha. I recommend Television's Marquee Moon, Wilco's Sunken Treasure, and Yo La Tengo's I Heard You Looking. -
Sweet, time to celebrate! Also, sorry to Vampire Weekend, but you really should have known better than to support an unstable band. Seriously, were you that desperate for wages?

I should see if I can scare neighbors when I play Revolution 9 at maximum volume, or would people think that it's just the background noise? Also, I think it's fair to say anything by MBV should be played at maximum volume.

I thought it was a lot more repetitive than their previous work. Sometimes, it works to great effect oddly, and sometimes it's a little middling for Fiery Furnaces' schizophrenic standards. Lost At Sea and Drive To Dallas immediately jump at me as great songs. I do want to listen to it again. I thought it was an entertaining listen at most. Some solid stuff, but it's not drawing me back. ---

You must hate music to narrowly look for rock. Maps and Tunnels is definitely rock in my books. Some of the other songs definitely incorporate rock.

First listen, and I'm one track away from More Stars Than There Are In Heaven.
