Listening to an album more often doesn't make it better. Funeral is just overwrought with emotion, and that's not bad at all. But it drowns out the detail to muscular musicianship, and it doesn't make it stronger than Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. The message gets lost in the emotional dwelling, and suddenly, the album it not even communicating to you. There is no connection attempted. This is why Funeral is strictly worse than Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, and deserves the same spot it deserved in 2000-2004 list, or even further down. I don't think anyone ever thought Pearl Jam was doing innovative or experimental things. Sure, they noodled around with accordions and mantras, but that's not outside of rock's realm. But the album sounds pretty stale. They minutely changed their sound, but as the reviewer stated, they're just making the rounds. It doesn't seem strange to me to expect an awesome band/artist crank out an awesome album. Look at Yo La Tengo, Sonic Youth, and Neil Young. Counterexamples: Bloc Party's Silent Alarm, Interpol's Turn On The Bright Lights, The Fiery Furnaces' Rehearsing My Choir, N.A.S.A.'s Spirit Of Apollo... Your formula doesn't even factor in the N factorial term for the hype(rbole) they create.

My skin is highly sensitive to the sawing from bugs. So yes, I will kill them so that they will not make me feel ill. I have partial prejudice because I don't want to suffer. It's sort of like defending yourself by preemptively putting an almost dead organism into your body so you don't have to suffer and or possibly die from those effects. You can choose not to kill bugs, but you don't get to judge those that do. And if you do, then stop flame-baiting.
