Holy sh*t. I think even Congress would do something about mandating waiting periods for pulling triggers on those tickets...
This from a Poison fan back in the day...
I know, right? Total cop-out alert: I was about to buy them for my wife's birthday. She would have liked the show, at 1983 prices. But, alas, I came to my senses.

gotta say that PiL looking to celebrate their 40th, just ten years later than LZ, is sobering to think about.

in other Plant news, my photos and review from last week's show:

Thanks for sharing both of those. I love that Robert Plant has continued to make meaningful music (unlike Mr. Jagger and Mr. Townsend).

Sometimes you get lucky. A guy I work with is a Bulls season ticket holder (first access to all United Center shows) and sold me two great seats to the Radiohead show in July. I usually avoid the United Center and other large venues for concerts, but I don't see Radiohead playing The Vic, The Riv or Thalia Hall etc. anytime soon!
Radiohead is one of the few acts I think I would pay to go see at a large venue. Not many of those left for me (McCartney, RHCP, maybe a few others). I did almost pull the trigger on Foreigner/Whitesnake/Jason Bonham tickets at a shed recently, but only because they were $11.25 each. $11.25 made it feel like 1983 all over again. Those darn fees, which doubled the ticket price, stopped me in my tracks. The fees made it feel like 2018 all over again.

JD for 5 years/$110 million. Opt out for him could cut that down considerably. Not a bad deal for the Red Sox; if he opts out after 2 years and $50 million, then he probably delivered the goods those first two years.
Better than Panda, who is still on the books for $37.2 million total over the 2018 and 2019 seasons and a $5 million buyout in 2020. Or HanRam, who will get over $22 million this year, or Price, who gets $30 million.

So this clown pretends to advocate for proper and a safe handling of guns, but he doesn't know know what kind of guns are in his house, or how many. Sounds really proper and safe to me.
Bingo.
Does this guy (who was trying to do a good deed by taking the kid in, mind you) get it that he comes off as an idiot in this interview?

As a Red Sox fan, I am hoping that they do not sign JD Martinez for more than 5 years/110 million. I'd be happiest with not signing him at all.

I haven't read that particular book but it's a great and tragic story.
And it's why Nova Scotia sends Boston a Christmas tree every year ...
It was a good read. I did not know much about the subject before reading it.
The town of Wolfville, NS plays a role in the book. I see that Jeff is set to play there on his upcoming solo tour. Population: 4,100.

Saw Destroyer at the High Noon Saloon in Madison Wisconsin this past Friday night. Excellent show =- mainly Ken with a mixture of Rubies. Maybe 200 people? How are they not more popular?
I am not going to make the 2 hour trek to Boston to see Destroyer this week, but my two neighbors are. Agree - can't figure out why they are not more popular.

Hilarious.

How can you not smile at that picture?

I generally like his stuff across all his bands. Not digging this new song at all, though.

That very stable genius t-shirt is pure genius. I want one.

I voted as well. That is a classic record. Worth it just to hear Radio King on vinyl.

That was a pretty mind-boggling collapse by the Chiefs. They just cannot tackle.

We made it through without losing power yesterday, which was my one hope. Got a foot of snow here just north of Portland. Some good wind gusts, too. Other than my fear of losing power/heat, it felt like a pretty regular, good-size winter storm in Maine.
Zero degrees right now, with a wind chill of -17. That seems worse to me than yesterday's Bombogenesis.

Any thoughts about which weekend they will choose for SS 2019? June 21-23? June 28-30? Would they go as early as June 14-16? Or back to an August date like the first SS?
I don't foresee a move to another summer month, given all that goes on in the Berkshires in July/August. I am hoping for the June 21-23 or 28-30.

Don't forget about the boost to the economy from more gun sales and more fortifying. It's a no-brainer: 2nd Amendment secured, schools are "safe", more guns in circulation, kids growing up surrounded by adults with guns which may make the next generations pro-gun, an increase in school spending, a boost to gun manufacturers, a boost to the economy. Why didn't we think of this before? Win-win-win-win-win-win-win!
I am so sick of winning.
My wife and I had our first real conversation today about moving to Canada. Not because Trump is President, but because there are so many idiots in the US, coupled with a good chunk of folks whose values are not in the same galaxy as ours. It's the last point that is really moving the needle for us. We will wait to see what our fellow citizens do in the midterms, and we'll decide from there.
