  1. I've had some LOL moments reading this thread. In 'I'm Always in Love' instead of "I'm a bomb, regardless" I heard "I'm the family gardener." It was only later that I found out Tweedy wrote a song called 'The Family Gardener."
  2. Thanks for the link, Wilco Me!
  3. Hi, My apologies if I'm duplicating a topic. I'm a fairly new Wilco fan, and I'm struck by how Jeff Tweedy's vocal style has changed over the years. When Wilco was in its early stages, his voice had a swagger and twang to it, it sounded deeper, too. From 'Summerteeth' on, his voice seems a bit higher and more vulnerable sounding, more folky, maybe? I can't really describe it. I've searched this site and googled the rest of the internet but haven't been able to find anything, and I don't have the Greg Kot book. Has Jeff or anyone else explained the change in singing style? Did he just quit smo
  4. Thanks for posting. One of the reasons I love Wilco is because Jeff is just so friggin' smart and thoughtful. He handled the Jay Bennett question really well. I also like what he had to say about the 'tortured artist' myth/idea. I don't think you need to be miserable to create good art, but I think it can help to be sensitive, maybe have a bit less emotional or psychic insulation than some people.
  5. Yes, it's juvenile, but this is my favorite so far, and I can't believe there isn't a porn flick called 'You On My Face.'
  6. Nice photos, quicksllver. This is geeky, but I'm loving the backdrop they're using, it looks really cool. Miami sounds like it was an awesome show!
  7. I'm a fairly new fan too but I thought I'd weigh in: AM: Casino Queen Passenger Side BT: Misunderstood I Got You (At the End of the Century) MMA1: California Stars Hoodoo Voodoo ST: Shot in the Arm Nothing'severgonnastandinmyway(again) MMA2: Airline to Heaven Remember the Mountain Bed YHF: the whole album! 8. Hi, I just started my blog with my friend, I don't go to a lot of local shows, but I love writing about music (I'll have a post up about Bruce Springsteen tomorrow). Did anyone see Wilco when they opened for Neil Young at the Metro Centre? I came late and wasn't familiar with their music at the time, plus I was in the nosebleeds. How about back in 2006 when they played Alderney Landing?
  9. Thank you! (For the welcome and for reading my blog).
  10. Hi, I'm new, but I just wanted to say that it was a great show. I wrote a review on my blog, which is just me and my friend enjoying our dorkiness, so the review is also dorky.
