I think its a really grand piece of work, and obviously there will be plenty of debate over whether or not it's perfect or deserves a 10.0 blah blah blah. Anyway...I think it really does deserve the critical acclaim. For one it is a really layered album in the sense that it fits together as a whole album really brilliantly, and the songs both musically and lyrically are certainly more than one dimensional and really open to interpretation. Actually, here at Grinnell there is both a cape girl and a giant hat girl. For a while I thought they might be the same person, just because not too many people would be that absurd. But nope. Cape girl always wears her black cape, everywhere and in every season. And big hat girl has this black and white leapord print hat with purple velvet trim that's about the same size as an oversize sombrero...and never goes anywhere without it. How these people function in society is beyond me.

Maybe wear a cape or mask or something when you turn this in. Just a suggestion.

I think I'm pretty rocking at cooking, especially when it comes to anything involving fish...or making fake Indian food. However, dorm kitchens aren't exactly the best places to show off your skills.

I don't know, capping off wages at 10 to 20x the minimum wage is pretty extreme. I wouldn't exactly call it compromise. Anything capping wages is going to be looked at very unfavorably, no matter how it's designed...and would definitely be major incentive for extremely wealthy people to move to other countries. I think it really comes down to increasing the minimum wage, creating a good and affordable health care system in this country, keeping up good social programs, and just watching corporations so that they don't abuse their power.

I'm not so much bothered by the fact that there are some ridiculously wealthy dudes out there. What bothers me is that basic things like health care are getting more expensive, and therefore harder to obtain for middle and lower class people. Rising gas prices are another thing that's obviously going to hit the less-well-off harder. But in a country that has so much prosperity, it's really kind of a dissapointment that wages aren't keeping up with inflation these days...and especially that minimum wage hasn't changed in a decade. I'm all for a little more distribution of wealth, or maybe.
