I downloaded at the tail end of last week and was mightily impressed with it. Certainly their strongest album to date. The songs that Pat sings on are better than Johns though imo. I think Nels guests on one track too.

Its really good. Some great lyrics - he's got a great delivery too.

Alot of filler on here but the good songs are great.

This is pitched perfectly inbetween the pedal steel country rock of Post To Wire and the stark acoustic tracks from The Fitzgerald. Amazing stuff.

Fuck! I didnt know this had leaked... Im so looking forward to this album.

Didnt know what to expect from this at all. But after one listen im certainly not dissapointed. I am a bit of a Blur / Damon fanboy though.

Just waiting for the new Autumn Defense to download!

Listened to that yesterday morning for the first time and really liked it. Not alot of filler on there either which I was suprised at.

^ Saw Viva Voce open for Death Cab last year when they played London. I thought they were really great. Hopefully The Shins will come over to the UK in the summer...

Fire In The Sky was one of my favourite songs of 2006. It is a really good album. If you like Teenage Fanclub and Big Star youre sure to like it. I upped the torrent on Oink a while back, im sure its still on there. They recorded it around the same time as Golden Smog recorded their last album at the same studio. Gary Louris even pops up on one track... Speaking of great indie-pop:
