No, I don't think he was equating Fox with Hitler. I was mainly commenting on the fact that a Hitler reference and comparison was made. Hence, my remark about Godwin's Law.

So Fox = Hitler? Godwin's Law strikes again!

I always hate hearing about stuff like this. What a shame. RIP

No, I understand what you're saying. I just think it's stupid either way. The political gamesmanship of it all added to the fact that any way you slice it, the Dems are trying their hardest to blame the oil companies for all that ails us (whether through the Republican party or not). Punishing and vilifying the Republicans for "supporting" oil companies means the same thing. -

Right. Because the obvious solution to our rising fuel costs is to punitively punish and vilify the one industry that actually provides the fuel we need. -

The less government does, the better. Especially with some of these bills that have come down the pipeline recently. Windfall profits tax??? Ridiculous. That's just one example. -

I love how you use extremes to make your points a lot of times. Obviously, taxes are a necessary part of an ordered society for just the things you mentioned. These can take many forms, such as state sales taxes, fees for drivers licenses and car registrations, etc., along with a federal income tax. My point was merely that we're already paying a quarter of our income to the federal government (thankfully I live in Texas), and in order to pay for all these campaign promises and benefits, tax cuts will be rolled back, then taxes will be increased, and I'm going to be paying more. And I'm n -

Unfortunately, this is a 100% true statement. No matter how badly McCain wants to pretend to be. -

National security is one of the cornerstone ideals of conservatism. Plus, it is one of the few things that the federal government was, actually, originally responsible for going back to the Constitution -

I've never understood this sentiment. MY wife and I work hard to provide for our family, pay the mortgage, make car payments, pay the bills, etc. We don't make that much money and yet 20-25% goes directly to the government for many needless, poorly-run government programs. Maybe I should default on my many loans and just wait for the federal government to come in and bail me out. -

Of course he was against the war. He is a Muslim after all, right? -
I do this, too, and it drives my wife crazy for some reason.

Then why sign the contract in the first place. I don't know, I find it hard to find fault with American Idol in this instance. Who determines how noble or good a cause is? Then, all it becomes is either a loophole to a contract or something that has to be determined on a case-by-case basis. Sorry for the use of that phrase, I didn't know it was getting overused (I'm being sincere here, too, I share a distaste for similar things, especially repeated cliches).

It is what it is. That's why contracts exist.

I've only noticed the longer expiration times on organic milk. The regular milk still seems the same, at least in my store.

With regards to expiration dates, I operate by one simple adage: "Better safe than sorry." What's a few extra bucks, anyway?

Well, seeing as how this country has never been a democracy, I'm not sure what the problem is. In either case. (edited)

The fact that it would be about a 20 to 1 margin if this were on any other band's message board.

You're right about that one. I just hope it doesn't devolve into each candidate constantly denouncing various supporters for something stupid they have said or done. That gets old real quick.
