Here's tape of Craig Finn singing I Wanna Be Your Dog. I am actually headed downtown to the free Hold Steady show that is taking place tonight in New York. Can't wait to see them again and hear the new songs. Maybe Gary and some of the guys from GS will reciprocate and show up at their show.

It was before Jay was asked to leave the band. Jeff asked Jay to leave the band in August of 2001.

They are a great band. I highly recommend YFIIP and their latest s/t record. They are also one of the best live bands around. When everything comes together and they have that sprawling collective of musicians onstage together, it is really something to see. I saw them again earlier this month in Brooklyn and they put on another good show. The band only had 10 members with it so it wasn't the full ensemble that they had brought to NYC earlier this year. They also have said that they are going on hiatus after their fall tour ends so go see them while you still have a chance. Broken Social Sce
