  1. A couple more that came to me this morning: Richard Thompson's "Guitar Heroes" is an homage to Django Reinhardt, Les Paul, Chuck Berry, James Burton and Cliff Richard & The Shadows. X mentions a host of punk bands on " I Must Not Think Bad Thoughts" (Minutemen, Flesh Eaters, DOA, Big Boys and Black Flag).
  2. Drive-By Truckers are the champions. Much of the classic double album "Southern Rock Opera" tracks the rise and fall of Lynyrd Skynyrd and includes a song partly about Neil Young ("Ronnie and Neil"), another which name checks Mollie Hatchet, Blue Oyster Cult and AC/DC ("Let There Be Rock") and a third ("Factory") which references The Who. They also wrote songs about GG Allin ("The Night GG Allin Came To Town"), George Jones ("George Jones Talkin" Cell Phone Blues") and Sam Phillips, Carl Perkins, Elvis and Jerry Lee Lewis ("Carl Perkins' Cadillac"). Lynyrd Skynyrd responded to Neil Young
  3. Saw "Once Upon A time in Hollywood" over the weekend and liked it quite a bit. Not nearly as shockingly violent as every other Tarantino movie. I also watched "Rolling Thunder Revue" and loved it. Finally, I finished Season One of both "City on a Hill" (they killed my wife's cousin, dammit!!) and Killing Eve.
  4. Wow. Those are the exact same track lengths of the songs on Nebraska!!! Ok, I made that up.
  5. How did you like Low Cut Connie? I can't get enough of them live.
  6. Picked up Tanglewood Numbers and Bright Flight when they were released, but I just discovered (by virtue of reading this very thread) American Water about six weeks ago. RIP, David.
  7. Jason should change the name of his band from The 400 Unit to The Feral Hogs!
