  1. I listen to that one every Valentine's Day (or on very long car rides).
  2. Nice. I'm late to their party. Just discovered them only about two months ago and have been listening to "Ghosts of the Great Highway" and "April" non-stop since then. How was the show? Full band?
  3. I can speak from personal experience to that fact. My oldest son got an arm tattoo of Black Flag's logo while in college -- years before he had ever heard one of their songs!
  4. So true. I'm tempted to purchase the set just so that I can finally actually hear the show I attended.
  5. Dang, I was at the June 3, 1995 show at the Rosemont Horizon.
  6. I own one Black Crowes record - "The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion." I like it quite a bit (I'm a sucker for southern guitar rock), though others may have more informed recommendations.
  7. Another from Pavement ("Stereo"): What about the voice of Geddy Lee How did it get so high? I wonder if he speaks like an ordinary guy? (I know him and he does)
  8. The Smithereens' "Wall of Sleep" references Bill Wyman.
  9. He also wrote a hilarious song about Don Henley ("Don Henley Must Die").
  10. Pavement's "Range Life" roasts Smashing Pumpkins and Stone Temple Pilots.
  11. A song that haunted me in high school, "The South's Gonna Do it Again" by The Charlie Daniels Band is a who's who of 1970's Southern Rock -- Marshall Tucker Band, Skynyrd, Dickie Betts, Elvin Bishop, ZZ Top, Wet Willie and Barefoot Jerry. And now I won't be able to get that song out of my head.
