spoken like someone who's never worked for less than $5 an hour. i seriously doubt a min wage increase will lead to layoffs as most of the expendible jobs have already been outsourced to the developing world. minimum wage is criminally low in this country. i understand the inflationary argument against such a wage, but the same inflationary principles apply to margin gouging. given a choice, i'd rather inflation come from more particiation in the economy than less.

bush likes diplomacy when there really is something closer to a fair fight (or at least an enemy that could inflict serious damage). look at the nuclear armed north korea for an example of this.

there's more to it than that. isreal is a european style government within missile range of the world's largest petroleum reserves. they're also nationalistic and willing to do what they need to do to keep their borders secure. they're a perfect partner for the US when we want some dirty work done.

the show and cd both rule. there are lots of live bootlegs floating out there and their live sets are killer.

lebanon has been trying to reform for the past year and a half. bush praised lebanon not too long ago for kicking out syria's puppets. lebanon has had a hard time controlling their southern province. rather than aiding lebanon, israel has been using depleted uranium weapons, blowing up bridges and destroying cities. yes, hezbolla should be stopped. firing cruise missles into cities will neither stop hezbolla, strengthen the lebanese security nor will it end sympathies for the terrorist group.

i don't blame bush for the whole situation, although he and his cronies undeniably further destabilized the entire region. that said, the US is not doing enough to pull the leash on israel. the whole thing is a pretext by israel to grab more land and probably push the palestinians into a new homeland zone. i suppose this destabilization and warfare is the domino theory in reverse.
