there's no law that says "don't break the law" either. treason is simply subverting or overthrowing the government. in the US, the formal government IS the constitution, not the men who hold the offices, as the government actually is composed of the citizens. quite simply, intentionally violating the constitution to subvert the structure of the government is treason. i don't like impeachments because they're always politcal (with a few judiciary exceptions). however, no president has had as much contempt for the constitution since andrew jackson. jackson really should have been impeached as

the president takes an oath to uphold and defend the constitution from all enemies, foreign AND domestic. violating that oath is a high crime (as in high crimes and misdemeanors). the warrantless wiretapping is a blatent violation of the fourth amendment, and the federal courts have said so. that was a violation of the constitution AND a violation of the oath -- AND THAT'S JUST ONE SMALL EXAMPLE of what these plutocrats have done. i'm NOT saying bush is hitler, or hitler-like, or anything of the sort, but he certainly fits the definition of a fascist in his insistence that only article II o

apple loves music $.99 a track. i swear, i'll start buying music online when apple starts allowing 192kbps m4a files instead of the crappy 128 rips.

Record industry to shut down tab sites next???
anodyne replied to MattZ's topic in Someone Else's Song
if someone publishes a book of drag the river tabs (and the band is getting their cut from the sales), i'd gladly take down my drag the river tab site. until then... -
you also lowered the bar considerably by calling someone a piece of shit. conservative radical wingnut ann coulter has a book titled treason. some in her clique like to throw that word around. violating the constitution is a much more severe form of treason than having some solidarity or sympathy for aspects of people labeled "enemy". of course, a member of this president's administration has already labeled me a member of a terrorist organization, so who am i to talk about treason?

i was wondering how long it would take until you accused the president's critics of hating america.

i like drive-in camp a lot. this movie was practically tailor made for my junk food consumption. i wanted to see it this weekend, but am waiting to see if it'll be at the drive in theater. i am willing to bet this would go from a C to an A with the tinny mono-speakerbox sound, a lawnchair, a cooler of beer, my dog at my feet and a citronella candle burning beside me.

lieberman gave his stump speech between questions today. it was very much . for those who missed it, it was basically "i'm sick of the status quo. vote for me because i have experience in maintaining the status quo. i'm not a republican, i hate polarization and i can jump the boundries to get things done." the best part was when he was saying that polls aren't useful for governing. yay representative democracy.

PE was east coast (nyc). anyone remember their remake of bring the noise with anthrax? rap metal should have stopped there because it gets no better. -
imagine if o'reilley and co. were on the air when mr smith went to washington. sure, the thirties had father coughlin, but he didn't have his own well-tied network to act as mouthpiece.

although in my experience, kids who fall behind/quit have less a sense of entitlement as disenfranchisement. regardless, they can buy in and benefit. it's just hard to break through the crust.

even a stopped watch is right twice a day. that said, "gangsterism" is one of the biggest obstacles for me as a high school teacher. why should students improve their mind when they KNOW they'll be wealthy by pimping and selling drugs and/or protection?
