Details on free beer to follow eventually. In the meantime: Help our very own, very talented, and very disturbed Singing Nerd (ObliviousToMyself) win a trip to Hawaii for his-self and his family. Unlike many other online contests, there's NO REGISTRATION OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT REQUIRED TO VOTE. Just click here: http://www.marriotthawaiitweets.com/ And vote for the one "Posted by John" (if you don't vote for him, God will destroy the internet). You can vote once a day until the 15th. John has promised macadamia nuts for all if he wins. I think. Thanks.

Conan summed up his feelings perfectly during his monologue last night: "When I was a little boy, I remember watching The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson and thinking 'someday, I'm going to host that show...for seven months.'"

Also: The Jay Leno Show was greenlighted when Bush was in office.
-
It was expected, though. The Boston affiliate, for one, tried to stop the Leno show from airing here because they knew the 11 o'clock news ratings would tank.

Martha Coakley, Massachusetts' Attorney General, was essentially being handed the seat after the primaries. In the past week, thanks to a groundswell of conservative action (his campaign claims to have raised $1.3 mill in the past 24 hours), Republican Scott Brown (currently a state senator) has closed the gap and we finally have a real race on our hands. There is, of course, controversy (real or fabricated, who knows) over when the new senator will be sworn in - before or after the health care vote? Last night's debate was fiery. Anyone paying attention to this?

I had no interest in baseball until Pedro Martinez joined the Red Sox.

You mean that the mostly city-dwelling fans of a semi-obscure alt-something indie-ish band are siding on a discussion board with the hipper, funnier guy who is apparently getting screwed, instead of the overstuffed aw-shucks mediocre guy who was supposed to be retired by now? How'd you ever come up with that observation??

Everything beyond this is what's insane.

The zeroes were kinda slow for him actually.

I like the second one okay, but St. Elsewhere is just brilliant as a whole. Full of fear and bombast and release. Love the fuckin' thing! You might have a point - that perfect single may have led to unfair criticism of the bulk of work.

Heard this on NPR - her story is inspiring and incredible. What a great person. Rest In Peace.

Man, if they haven't gotten a clue at this point.... -
Which one does Debbie Gibson play?

You lucky so-and-so. A detailed report, please.

If you liked them at some point (which it seems you did), then not enjoying the film would be an outrageous display of stubbornness. Hating for hating's sake. -

If anyone who voted for U2 can sit through U23D and still feel the same way, then good Lord. -
Do you know the album Graceland? Every second of any VW song brings some touch of Graceland to mind. Me too, I love Graceland. I said it because it's what they sound like to me.

4 Non Blondes for that one song -
Thanks for reading my list.

Listening now. They still sound like a band who formed out of a classified ad that read "Band Members Needed. Is Paul Simon's Graceland the only album you've ever heard? If yes, call now."

The spitting incident may keep Alomar out of the HOF? That is one magic loogie.
