Over the weekend I went to the Lennon in NYC exhibit at the R&R Hall of Fame annex in Manhattan. Well done - my favorite bits: a press kit for Walls & Bridges that included a presskit interview of Ringo's (for his previous album) with Lennon writing over Ringo's answers, a projection of super 8 footage of Lennon the pied piper being followed around Central Park in (I'm guessing) 1979 - plus him going into Tiffany's and coming out with a hot dog. Comedian Lennon. Awesome.

I think they're more shrewd than that - I think comments like the one I posted play right into the hands of millions (I don't think it's fringe at all) who are against Obama no matter what. It's not just crazy people. -

That would make sense if the President's live speech wasn't followed immediately by my local TV anchor saying "President Obama, delivering his very controversial speech to..." -
What's funny/disturbing/whatever for me about the Klosterman thing is I have my own notes on a parallel universe Beatles Anti-Anthology I thought of writing, which include among other things, the band welcoming Yoko into the studio with open arms. I feel like he wrote this piece just for me.

That is the best thing Klosterman's ever done. So good. This is just genius:

Naw, it's the calm before the storm really hits. This thread only dies when the WS contenders are decided.

To me, they may have peaked with I Want To Hold Your Hand. Or Dear Prudence.

It's not like blrssp's saying some outlandish stuff.

Yup. 0:52 "ADT" drops out early, leaving "It is being, It is" in the right ear. At the same moment the organ sound stops.

So I borrowed a copy of the (supposed) stereo remaster of Revolver - and at 53 seconds in of 'Tomorrow Never Knows', Lennon's voice cuts out at "it is beinggggg", along with some other psychedelic noise that was accompanying him. I imagine maybe what I have is not the new product, but one of those homemade dealies I've heard so much about in the past few years. EDIT: Snap! It's on my old CD release, too! Never noticed. Time to check that page of irregularities that was posted a few pages back.

Man, let the guy rest in peace. No need to go dragging his name through the mud. BTW I'm talking to E!Online, not Good Old Neon. -

"Celebrity to the Stars" -
What happens in The Natural - does he swing at a ball four intentional walk pitch? Or is that another movie?

All I'm saying is no matter how "weak" the NL is, they have a team in the World Series every year. That's pretty impressive!!
-
-1 for not reading the thread.

I think what the gentleman from Pulp Fiction is trying to get across is: how important are interleague play records when it comes to winning the World Series (assuming that winning the World Series is the point of a team's existence)?
-
Nice. I would add "Krautrock"

Does anyone think of these lines: "I saw a film today, oh boy!/The English Army had just won the war/A crowd of people turned away/but I just had to look/Having read the book" as a reference to John's experience with How I Won The War? The crowd turned away (not a big hit), but he had to look having read the book (script)? I just kind of always married the lines to the movie, but I don't know if its a reference or not.

I'm a sucker for Pedro Martinez, and as such I loved reading this:
