  1. Don't even watch it - fucking amateur drivel. I just liked the headline.
  2. From Filter: By comparing and contrasting lyrical contest and chart position of each of David Bowie's 26 albums and 266 songs, a Psychology expert from the University ofHertfordshire has written what he deems the "Ideal" David Bowie song. Apparently, songs with positive emotion and social processes wereBowie's most successful, so the canny fan Dr. Nick Troop used his finding to create "Team, Meet Girls; Girls, Meet Team," the Bowie classic in the making. But is it really Bowie-worthy? Judge for yourself, here's the video:
  3. I appreciate the new album because I've never had a least favorite Wilco album before.
  4. Pumpin' 4 The Man - Ween It's a nine mile walk from the office to the pumps Sometimes you think you're gonna drop In the end you're filthy dirty, horny, and pissed off And before you can leave you gotta sweep the fuckin' shop It's a real real bitch to be workin' for the man But shit, I do it well, so what the fuck I could probably wash dishes at some other fuckin' dump But it's all the same to me, bustin' ass to make a buck So read 'em up and stick 'em Pump that fucker good Some woman down on Main Street needs a jump Get your fingers outta your ass And pump some faggot's gas And think abou
  5. I've had no luck finding any sites with info on Paul's current touring band, but I wonder how long each of the guys have been with him. All I know is "Wix" Wickens has been at the keys since the 1989 tour. That's quite a run.
  6. 'Dark Neon' should've opened the album. '(The Song)' should've been a b-side.
  7. I had just seen the movie Darkman with my brother when we were driving home and he remarked that 'you never hear this one on the radio' - I think it was 'Couldn't Stand The Weather' - then the DJ relayed the horrible news. VH1 did a nice tribute that night I recall. One of my dormmates the following fall had SRV posters/memorabilia all over his room. He saw the final show. Claimed Stevie was absolutely on fire that night.
  8. Letter From An Occupant - The New Pornographers
  9. Camping a few weeks ago in Indiana, I took a late night stroll to the restroom, turned on the light and saw this ten feet away on the concrete floor: (not my pic but pretty much exactly what I saw) I didn't know until the next day that it was a brown recluse, when I researched it online. He started scurrying toward me as I pissed at the urinal, but then took a turn and disappeared down a drain. Heebie. Jeebies.
  10. McCartney (the cherries album) is kind of a light snack, but I think it's my favorite Macca album.
  11. I was hoping for a 'not bad.' That is cool about Roadhouse Blues - never knew that. He blows the shit outta that thing on that. Probably my favorite Doors track.
  12. I just heard that Billy Wagner is a hundred years old! I had no idea.
  13. John Sebastian joined The Doors onstage? How could the band be sure they didn't end up with him instead of Ray Manzarek after the show?
  14. That day sucked. I was pretty into SRV at the time, then boom, he was gone.
  15. Talk To Me - a truth-challenged biopic of 60s DJ Petey Greene. Fun to watch, though it suffers the typical pitfalls of most biopics. I didn't expect much, but goddamn, never underestimate Don Cheadle. Plus, Chiwetel Ejiofor & Taraji P. Henson are fantastic.
  16. The animation is pretty cool, but the game aspect just kills it for me. That intermittent screeching wraith sound is the player garnering points I imagine. What a waste of technology. Maybe it will lead to something cool though, like being able to "go see" The Beatles at a music hall in a decade or so.
  17. You really don't give a shit at all, zero percent, no interest, could not possibly care less about what other people think of music?
  18. I enjoy the drone and all (no, really) but I can understand desiring an abbreviated version of the song (the melody and lyrics are gorgeous before the drone swallows the song).
  19. I pretty much completely lost my shit after seeing Breaking The Waves I loved it so much. Dancer In The Dark, now that was creepy. People screaming out in horror in the theater, and sobbing. Easily the most raw, visceral reactions I've ever witnessed at the movies.
