  1. It's cool - dunn was just making a Simpsons reference.
  2. I think "smoky backroom jazz" could be the worst description of Jesus, etc. I've ever heard.
  3. Artie Shaw plays an integral part in a critical moment in The Sopranos.
  4. I'm starting to feel that computers and music don't mix.
  5. I was thinking the same thing. I can see being disgusted by the man's need for attention, but I don't see how that translates into a desire for him to fail at his job.
  6. I can picture this whole episode being a real hoot for Bob. Like he's said, being recognized everywhere is a burden. Imagine his feelings when being taken for a common tramp and thrown into a cruiser. He'd probably pay good money for that experience.
  7. I may slightly question the Ganesh vibes when Crow is feeling that an elephant is sitting on his chest. Crow - ebb and flow, peaks and valleys. The stuff of life, it is.
  8. I will likely be in Miller Park tonight for a beisbol game!
  9. Observation: radio in the midwest likes their AC/DC Bon-ified. Heard Whole Lotta Rosie, Jailbreak and Ride On over the past couple of days.
  10. What are you talking about - that pic was taken over the weekend.
  11. And this technology has been available for how fucking long? I heard this on the news all day as I drove through Michigan yesterday. The head talking like they just reinvented the wheel. Fuck GM.
  12. This is great news! Even if I never see it...just to know it's happening! His appearances on Letterman back in the day are classic, and his movie is still my favorite Tim Burton film.
  13. Youkilis charged because of the massacre in the Bronx and the ongoing Big Papi distraction. The Red Sox will now go on to win the World Series.
  14. I suspect Jeff's love for Nudie suits can be traced directly back to Gram Parsons.
  15. Holy flashback - you couldn't get away from Two Wheels Good for a few months in '85-'86. Then -woosh-.
  16. This is sad to hear. I probably came close to memorizing Sixteen Candles as I turned into a teenager, then I became addicted to The Breakfast Club. I only saw Pretty In Pink for the first time a couple of years ago (when I was already way past any target market age), and it stands a damn fine movie with some great performances. Throw in Some Kind Of Wonderful, Planes Trains & Automobiles, Weird Science, Christmas Vacation, Uncle Buck, and Ferris Bueller and I see one heck of a track record, with (usually) a sweet soundtrack.
  17. I disagree - the sound difference between an mp3 and an aiff file is one thing, but I think most people can tell whether what they're listening to is on vinyl or not. Plus, there's the experience of listening to a record, which alone makes it much more than "just a format." I'm not saying you don't appreciate vinyl or whatever - I'm just saying the arguments you've used are not all that valid.
  18. Jesus Fucking Christ on a popsicle stick.
