As ridiculous as they may come across, I think Dark Neon contains some of the wildest lyrics Tweedy's written. This song's all fucked up and I love it.

I loved Ganz in Wings of Desire - perhaps it's time for me to check out Downfall. And as fun as it is to derail this thread, I must say I've seen Oasis twice live, and both shows were fookin brilliant. There's nothing quite as satisfying in life as extending the middle finger to Liam as he's staring at the crowd like a statue.

Naked's The Long & Winding Road, freed of Spector's shackles, is a revelation. And it's not just the production on those few songs that make Naked essential - since its release, it's rendered the original album nearly* useless. And growing up, it was sometimes my favorite Beatles album. *except "I dig a pygmy!..." No Sea of Time, Holes or Monsters for you!

IRDB - you should maybe use asterisks in the title or something when you start a sincere thread, so we'll know.

Yeah I really just don't have the ear for this type of thing. I have the stereo and mono versions of Pet Sounds and I'd be hard-pressed to tell which version I was hearing if a song came up on shuffle.

Animated Lennon interview wins Emmy
Sir Stewart replied to Sparky speaks's topic in Someone Else's Song
I love it too - it should be winning awards. -
What are the elements that you're referring to here? One of my criticisms is that IB's dialogue doesn't pop in a way that one would expect from a QT screenplay. Are you saying it isn't supposed to?

I think just Vampire Weekend and Oasis.

The press conference just ended - Tedy, didn't you get the memo that retirement speeches are supposed to squirm-inducing, rambling sobfests?

So who was the very special guest?

That's pretty cool.

Full disclosure, regarding my above rant: I check the time in my kitchen using a Yellow Submarine clock and just opened a beer with a Beatles bottle opener, while looking at my McFarlane dolls of George & John.

What's the consensus on Wilco (The Album)?

Then pardon me please. Rough weekend. -
Paul Byrd - back from the dead!

The hype around this amazes me. Take a look at the date and info in the first post of this thread: By the time they're in the hands of consumers, these remasters will have been hyped for at least eleven months. Records that were first available 40 years ago, and have been resold in handfuls of packages/formats in the between time, being sold all over again in the name of better sound. In what form will Beatles albums be shoved at us in twenty years - ear drops? Injections? I know I must be coming across as overly cynical/ignorant of the quality of this product, but Christ.

My wife's birthday came one month after we met. I don't remember what I got her and neither does she. I'm sure it was something okay though.

Not true at all - you genuinely confound me time and again. And be fair - you edited and elaborated upon your post after I asked my questions. I actually agree a lot with what you said. AGIB was definitely raked over the coals here when it was first available. -
Geez Lou! The release says it's for charity and who it's for! Pull yr head outta yr ass in this thread!

So three years from now you'll listen to what the members of this site say about this album? I don't get it. -

I like the TV movie Two Of Us, with Aidan Quinn as Paul and Jared Harris as John, set the day of Lorne Michaels' on-air request that they reunite on SNL. I have a copy of it somewhere here, I think I'll watch it this weekend. EDIT: some scenes on YouTube - I like this one particularly.
