Yes and yes. Someone involved in HTDAAB said leading up to the release that it was U2 going back to its roots. Pfft. I like the album, but it's nothing like Boy (Bono even said they thought about calling it Man). I say they should do Being There, as a non-fiction novel wherein the main character, the vice president of the United States, stands on his head during the State of the Union address and walks out of the Capitol building on his hands, away to a cornfield in Iowa, where he invents a robot that makes life easier for all of his fellow Americans.

I think they're going for 'funny' though - and that's where he'd have them beat (he definitely makes me laugh, no matter how little I put into his arguments).

Among the countless stupid and boring moments in that trailer, this sticks out: Why would they make that to look like David Zucker is saying that? I think I know - because they are lazy. This screenshot illustrates perfectly the thought process that went into making this. Man, and Chris Farley's brother was great in that one episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm. Dang.
