  1. I'm not as outspoken in person as I am on the internets. Plus I'd make a horrible public speaker.
  2. My bad. I erroneously assumed that because you put the link in the sentence, "It certainly doesn't help that the climate change skeptics are the same people who manipulate scientific reports," that you were saying that climate change skeptics are the same people who manipulate scientific reports. I didn't realize that it was just general Republican bashing.
  3. I'm not saying that these scientists don't believe their own theories, just that they might be wrong about them. Climate science is complex, and unlike many other fields, you can't really test your theories. And it's not the scientists that are propagating the doomsday alarmism. It's the media and people like Al Gore. I'm pretty sure they have just as much motivation to propagate fake theories as oil companies. And perhaps Julie MacDonald is just one person and not in fact every or even most climate change skeptics.
  4. Since when was science a democracy? How many currently-accepted theories were laughed at by the majority of scientists when they were proposed? It's pretty clear that the earth is warming, but it's not at all settled whether we are causing it or to what extent it will continue. Excuse me if I'm a little skeptical of computer models which try to predict the climate a hundred years from now when they don't know all the variables or even how each variable affects the climate. There are plenty of good reasons to get off fossil fuels. Scaring people into thinking that the apocalypse is coming if we
  5. It's already begun: Bee Swarm Shuts Ark. Hospital's ER
  6. Considering that global warming will bring on a new ice age (that chases people through the streets of major cities), I agree.
  7. I'd be willing to do that as long as you bought me some carbon credits to offset the emissions from my launch.
  8. It's bad enough that we're melting our own ice caps, but melting the ones on Mars is just too much. We need to have mandatory emissions caps on Mars Rovers!
  9. If we took that bet and won, how would we collect on it?
  10. Of course I disagreed with all of them on almost everything, but Edwards is the biggest sleazeball of them all. He made his fortune suing obstetricians for supposedly causing cerebral palsy by delivering babies instead of doing C-sections yet he comes out against outlawing a procedure where the doctor mostly delivers the fetus (i.e. premature baby) and sucks its brain out (apparently there are cases where delivering the baby and its brain separately are necessary to protect the mother's health). I guess Edwards can't make any money suing doctors for intentionally killing babies. Other than tha
  11. They should start teaching grammar in grade school.
  12. An Inconvenient Flavor: Melted vanilla ice cream with gummy dead polar bears floating in it.
  13. Well, I might have to look for some Oberweiss. But in all seriousness, ice cream is one thing that should be untainted by politics. Otherwise, we might end up with flavors like Clinton Cream.
  14. How's their vanilla? Does it rival Haagen Daaz's?
  15. I agree with Earl. I might be a blasphemer, but Ben and Jerry's flavors tend to be overkill, using too many ingredients. Chunky Monkey and Mint Chocolate cookie (which I can never find) are obvious exceptions. Haagen Daaz is much better.
  16. And you're ignoring the fact that fertilizer is designed to make plants grow very efficiently.
  17. I'm pretty sure it's not. I read somewhere that a student who had a concealed carry license got in trouble for having a gun on campus several months ago.
  18. You seem to be calling me out on my hyperbolizing (Is that a real word?). Can't they do less of both?
  19. If they weren't douchebags, then they wouldn't be able to afford a good defense and they would still be under investigation. So the fact that they are innocent is proof that they are douchebags.
  20. Because some guy said something shitty on the radio. The media can only cover one thing at a time!
  21. Why change it when you can just ignore it? And the SCOTUS could get around any part of the Constitution with "necessary and proper." That doesn't mean it's actually in the Constitution. I don't see how 300 million government employees could be argued to be necessary, but I don't have a law degree.
  22. But if it got changed to some sort of non-military "national service" as some were suggesting, there would be.
  23. I think there's something in the Constitution about this. Something about slavery.
