I got the sound clip from a Mudhoney song, actually. I can't remember which one. Man, Mudhoney were (and are, 'cos they haven't changed at all) a fuckin' awesome band.

I also used to have a clip of Peter Fonda from "Wild Angels" - "We wanna be free! We wanna be free to do what we wanna do. We wanna be free to ride. We wanna be free to ride our machines without being hassled by The Man! ... And we wanna get loaded. And we wanna have a good time."

When I was in college, I had a sound clip of the Hamburger Pimp on my answering machine. Oh, golden college days.

I'm wondering when, precisely, that five-year period starts. Maybe I should get some sort of count-down clock showing the exact moment when I get rid of all my Decemberists records.

Yeah, I know - I was going to use it in quesadillas because it would melt easily. It was good quality organic processed cheeze food, though!

So I made a cheese sammich today, using pre-sliced colby-jack cheese. I started eating the sammich and thought it was strangely... chewy. Then I realized I had failed to peel off the sheets of wax paper that separate the cheese slices, so I was basically eating paper. Oh well, it's got lots of fiber...

That does sound more or less like what I have, except I had a tear because the cartilage was deformed to begin with, and I have arthritis in the joint now. And I'll need knee replacement surgery eventually, too. Knees suck.

When I was a kid, I really loved a book called "My Side of the Mountain" where this kid runs away from his family and lives in the wilderness by himself. I've always wanted to do that.
