Bon Jovi tries to protect his (fake) name

There are like 3,000 songs called "It's My Life". -
There's also a difference between shooting an animal dead and making it fight, which leads to a much longer, more drawn out death. I don't like hunting at all, but I still can see a difference between immediate death and a slow, drawn out, torturous one.

Uh, I doubt it. He only needs a few more. He'd have to be injured to the point of being crippled for him to give up on it before he breaks it. History will judge him harshly, and he'll be in third on the all time list within 10-15 years anyway.

Haha, fair enough. I was upset about the whole steroids scandal, but have come to accept that it was so widespread that getting worked up about each individual juicer is pointless. I decided I either had to get over it, or stop watching baseball all together. I still hate Bonds because he's an asshole, but don't really care about the juicing anymore.

Hey, I think we've all seen a lot of guys on steroids hit homeruns in the last 10-15 years. Not to defend Bonds at all, but his homeruns were no less 'roidy than 3/4th of the league's.

I saw Bonds homer at Wrigley last year. It was actually sort of cool. I'm glad I was there.

He's covered as much territory as a lot of other guys who are considered to be greats. Whether or not you think he stacks up to them quality-wise is a different matter, but he's covered as many styles of music as almost all of the still-worshipped guitar gods of the '60s. It's not like many of them were really genre hoppers.

What else do they have to cheer for?

I thought she was a Cubs fan.

In college, I lived in a house with 7 other people, one of whom was a Yankees fan who was from San Jose (she also rooted for the Cowboys, so you can probably get a sense for what type of person she is). That was the year that the Yankees lost the World Series to the Diamondbacks. Most satisfying.

Does everyone agree that saves are retarded?

Everyone can agree that Phillies fans are insufferable.

This is precisely why it's silly to look at wins. If he pitches well and gets no run support, he does not get the win. If he pitches well, but his bullpen blows it, he does not get the win. If he pitches poorly, but his team's offense goes crazy and scores 15 runs, then he gets the win. Wins are a great team stat. In fact, they are the best team stat (of course). But they just don't tell you anything about an individual pitcher because there are so many other factors involved (unless you think that a starting pitcher has some sort of influence over how well his team hits, or how well

All is forgiven, buddy. I would say that while batting average is very, very overrated, it is still not nearly in the same league as wins for a pitcher. BA gives you a very small part of a much bigger picture, but it at least tells you about a player. It does not tell you how good a batter is, but it can at least hint at it. Wins tell you a whole lot about a team, but barely anything at all about the pitcher (see: Matt Cain, this season). It's silly to put too much stock in batting average because there are much better stats that can tell you a whole lot more. It's stupid to look at wi

Thanks for letting me know about it last week, jerkface. Most overrated stat: Wins for a pitcher by a longshot Most useless: Saves

Jeter can cover third and short. Eckstein is coming out of the bullpen.
-
I don't know. Maybe they've had some bad luck, but is that enough to make up for the fact that they hate winning and have no heart? It's time for them to make a big move, and that move is to trade A-Rod for David Eckstein. It's been a long time coming.

The Indians might fill up stadiums wherever they go if they got more coverage. People don't know who they are as much, so are less likely to want to go see them. It's an endless cycle. Also, the recent success angle works, but only so much. The Lakers still get a heck of a lot more coverage during the NBA season than the Spurs do.
-
I'm interested in both, and in many instances, the stats tell the story in ways that antecdotes simply can't.
-
I can understand why the Yankees and Red Sox get more coverage than other teams do. But I do not understand why they seem to get more coverage than all other teams combined. Feel free to give them a few extra minutes, but the amount of coverage that they get is still ridiculous.

He's a pretty incredible guitarist.
