Swisher should be good for a while though. I don't know enough about the prospects they traded to know if it was a good deal for the Sox or not, but it's not as though Swisher is so old enough to be seen as a "win now" type of trade. He's only 27, so he'll be good quite a while longer than pretty much all of the Tigers starters other than Granderson, Cabrera, and a couple of the starting pitchers. They definately won't compete this year, but it's not as though picking up Swisher means they've totally mortgaged their future.

Sorry, but I'm not convinced when you make a claim, but then insist that someone else does the research to back it up. Pretty weak.

So in your view, are all malpractice cases illegitimate? Is there no such thing as real malpractice? Or do the people who suffer it just not deserve representation in court? You seem to be painting with a pretty broad stroke.

Why is it hypocritical to be rich and to care about the poor? And do you have any proof that his lawsuits were bogus? If they were bogus, why did a court of law rule in his favor so consistently? Are the courts illegitimate? Or are all lawsuits bogus in your eyes? Do you know the facts behind the cases that he tried or are you just assuming? I'm just wondering.

Gibson pitched in what was a pretty extreme pitchers era, especially when compared to the last 15 years or so. That being said, he was still fucking awesome, even for that era, so yeah, he'd bring in some big bucks if he was playing today.

I don't feel as though there is a lack of quality talent in baseball, although there certainly is in the free agent market. But that is also a reflection of the economics of the game -- the high quality talent are securing longer term contracts, and so the free agent market is thin.
