Does anyone have any pictures of the exterior of the stadium? I remember the descriptions of the designs back in the early stages sounded pretty neat. -
I'm guessing that it was more a matter of horniness + stupidity, but jealousy works too.

Washington Nationals New Stadium

I thought I'd heard that they'd originally planned a view of the capital, but ended up having to have the stadium face the other direction because having it face the capital would but the sun right in the batter's eyes. -

Yeah, it's a pretty unexciting name on it's face. But part of the reason they chose it was historical -- the official name of the original Washington Senators was the Washington Nationals. In that light it's not as bad, as it's sort of celebrating the return of baseball to the city. -
She told me she was on the pill.

The "Mk" songs are obvious filler, but still not awful, and for a bonus disc, a handful of really good songs and a little bit of filler isn't so bad.

Just because a lot of teams with spread offenses have historically had bad defenses, that doesn't mean defense is automatically sacrificed when you go to a spread offense. I mean, why would it? Doesn't make any sense. It's not like basketball or baseball where you have the same guys on offense and defense, and therefore bringing in a certain type of guy to do one thing might sacrifice something else.

Actually I got a little confused. Was thinking of Rolen. Oops.

I think the bigger issue is that Edmonds and LaRussa want to murder each other.

The best songs from the sessions made it onto the proper album, but disc 2 sounds pretty good to me. I especially like "Last Flowers to the Hospital" and "4 Minute Warning".

I can't believe how many of these guys wrote personal checks for their steroids.
-
That list was way off. I'm just skimming now. Really bummed about Rondell White. Tejada is the only big name I've come across so far. And Paul LoDuca, if you consider him to be a big name.

I agree. I don't think the players should be let off the hook because their owners were complicit. I just think the owners should take the blame that is due to them as well. There's plenty to go around.
-
Sure, no one was forced to do steroids. But when owners/management ignored steroid use, and handed out giant contracts to guys who benefited from steroid use, they clearly encouraged other guys to do it. Sure, they didn't give them the steroids, they didn't explicitly tell them to use them, but by allowing it to go on, they condoned it. The big money guys could make more money by using, and the more marginal players could help themselves to make a roster spot that they may otherwise be struggling for. Management has to take some of the blame for allowing the drug culture to flourish.

The Cubs let Mark Prior become a free agent. Gives a little more credence to the rumors about him, although they really should have let him go a long time ago.
-
I'm still curious to what extent the report will blame management, ownership, etc. or if all of the blame will be placed on the players.

There was a big thing in Sports Illustrated a couple years back about Bonds, and Sheffield was quoted heavily. They trained together during the off-season one year. Apparently Bonds treated him like total shit, so he didn't mind selling him out, but he admitted in that article that Bonds's trainers gave him some stuff that were probably the clear and the cream, and he just assumed they were standard balms that you apply to injuries and such. Unlike Bonds, I think I believe Sheff when he says he didn't know they were steroids at the time, especially since he has such a weird view of what "st

Sheff was sincere, but he's also really dumb. He really doesn't believe those things were steroids.
-
What's the source for that list of players anyway? Is it at all credible?
-
Sheffield says that steroids are only something that get injected into your butt. He used the cream and the clear, but doesn't consider them to be steroids because he didn't get a shot in the ass.
-
Yeah, I was talking about the 11 free agents who will be named in the report.
-
Right, I meant that the players would be in a rush to sign.
-
11 current free agents will be named. Now we watch the mad scramble to sign contracts before the morning ends.
