I don't know. Last year the Tigers were bad in the second half, and finished the regular season by being swept by the Royals. They coasted through the first two rounds of the playoffs.

To be fair though, the only real difference between getting caught and maintaining their lead is whether they'll be playing the Angels or the Indians in the playoffs.
