I can see some good in knowing the nominees so far in advance. It can give voters more time to learn about them. Of course, I know that that won't happen. Instead of policy proposals and policy analysis, we're going to get soundbites and horserace analysis, so it won't work that way at all. But I'm mildly comforted by the idea of it anyway.

It's not what you would expect, both in the style of the songs, as well as the fact that it is not completely terrible. He has a really deep, rich singing voice, which I cannot decide if I love or hate. Anyway, it's decent, but not great.

Okay, when you play the sixth string open, its an E, right? So you throw a capo on the first fret, and now when you play that string open, its an F, because even though you aren't holding the string down, the capo is holding it down at the first fret.. And now if you play, say, a C chord shape with that capo on, since all of the notes are now a half step up, you're effectively playing a C# chord.

I think you're missing the point. They're trashing the Dylan set not because of any too cool for school hipster attitude, but because this release simply does not need to exist. It's a cash grab. It's just a repackaging of several different things that people have already paid for. Why should Pitchfork, or anyone for that matter, embrace that?

Come on people, "Trapped in the Closet" is comedy genius. Of course R. Kelly doesn't know that it's comedy, but if you listen/watch it in the right frame of mind, it's about as entertaining as anything.
