  1. Dark UFO also has an ABC sneak peek for (I think) next week's episode. I couldn't help it, I watched it... VERY spoilery for a "sneak peek".

But I don't want to know anything about eps 13 & 15. Must... resist... temptation...

  2. But is she really "claimed"? If so, how? Did she die and go into the water too?

I still believe that Claire died when the mercenaries from the freighter blew up her house. Did she go to the spring? I don't know, but because her house blew up and because of the strange way Miles interacted with her right after the house blew up, I think she's some kind of undead or something, not unlike her dad.

Looking forward to the next epi too!!

  3. Because Claire was already familiar with MIB when he was walking around in Christian's body. At least that's what I think.

Or because she's already been "claimed".

I'm not yet convinced that it was ol' smokie walking around the island in Christian's body... I think because she's been claimed, when Claire looks at MIB she is seeing him as he "used" to be, on that beach with Jacob all those years ago.

  4. What about Claire's "brand"? What the heck has been going on with her for the past 3 years? Did she travel through time with the others? Or was she seemingly unstuck in time like the temple folks? Argh, I can't believe there are so few episodes of this show left!!! :stunned

  5. I agree with roolz-y, that looked like a picture of Jack & his parents.

The appendix scar was odd to me too. It's an indication that this alt timeline has roots far deeper than just the 815 flight. Jacob didn't "touch" Jack until he was an adult, but on island time, we know that he had his appendix when the plane crashed.

My head hurts. I'm ready to just throw in the towel on any kind of theorizing and just sit back and let the writers tell me what they're gonna tell me. :lol

When did Jack have his appendectomy? It was on the Island, right?

Yup. Juliet took out his appendix around the time the freighter folks showed up.

  6. And why did Claire not see MIB as Locke? I can't really believe that Sawyer would buy into this no matter how bereaved he is. He sacrificed himself (so to speak) by jumping off the helicopter. He sacrificed his place with the others to save Ben. He got off the freaking sub to stop Jack but ended up helping him. Sawyer is not at heart evil. He may hate Jack now, but Sawyer is the prime example of free will in action. Jack talks of destiny, but only recently. This destiny stuff hasn't worked out very well either.

I think maybe being infected means she can see him for who he is.

I also think that Sawyer knows exactly what he is doing. This Sawyer/MIB thing is going to come down to who is the better con man. I don't believe for a second that Sawyer thinks MIB is his ticket off the island. What does make me sad is the implication that Hurley & Sawyer are coming down on opposite sides of this whole thing.

And what about Miles? Stuck back at the temple? I really want to see more of him, I hope he's not going to be a sacrifice that the island demands anytime soon...

  7. They also state that Austen was listed as #51, but was NOT crossed out!

Rewatching now and that is the truth.

I don't think either Jacob or the MIB can necessarily be trusted to tell the truth. They are both con men trying to recruit for their own side.

  8. "This could indicate that the names are crossed out when candidates die, but it is unclear if there are other reasons that a candidate might be crossed out, too (for instance, the name Straume is crossed out but Miles is alive)."

    Hmm.

I think Miles' gift has to have something to do with his ineligibility to be a candidate.

  9. Did they all end up on the island because they were "supposed to" or because of the influence of Jacob? Or is this one and the same? I'm still struck by Jack's comment "Nothing is irreversible."

I think it's one and the same. I think Eloise "sided" with Jacob and Widmore with the MIB. Then I start to get confused because both Eloise and Widmore were very adamant about getting everyone back to the island. Then I remember that Jacob and MIB both want all the candidates on the island, just for different reasons, though we're not yet entirely clear on those reasons and motivations... :stunned

  10. How about this - since Sayid never came to the island in the sideways universe, he couldn't have shot young Ben. So young Ben would have been evacuated with all the other women & children, hence he's off the island in 2004. Which just made me think of something else - in the scene last year (I think) where Ben & Ethan take Alex from Danielle - why wasn't Ethan evacuated when he was a little kid? Or maybe he was and somehow came back to the island in later years.

  11. I'm not convinced that sideways universe Ben, Ethan, etc., were ever even on the island. I think the whole idea of it is what would have happened had nobody been summoned to the island by Jacob. Perhaps sideways universe Ben's mom never died giving childbirth and he had a happy life! Just a thought... probably doesn't make any sense, most of what I think about Lost doesn't make any sense. :unsure

  12. Wow, tonight's episode was simply stunning and amazing. I'm still letting it sit in my mind. I'll probably watch it a 2nd time in a little bit.

Anyways, here is something that I got at Lostpedia re:

    Updated:

  13. I need more time for this episode to sink in, but also Richard couldn't see the kid and Sawyer could. I love Richard, I hope he doesn't turn out to be some kind of clueless pawn in this whole thing...

  14. I was wondering where Kate was too. I think she may not make it out of this season alive. Does anyone remember if Jacob touched her when she tried to steal that lunchbox? I may have to go re-watch it.

And I guess Frank wasn't a candidate after all...

That was a great episode. I love how success and money don't seem to have fazed Hurley and his "good guy" attitude. And Frank is still one of my favorite characters... "This is the weirdest damn funeral I've ever been to." :lol

That bloody kid in the jungle gave me chills. Still trying to figure out what Richard's deal is. I guess I'm really still trying to figure out what Jacob and the MIB's deals are too... :stunned

Also, what do you think about Helen mentioning getting her parents and Locke's dad and just getting married in Vegas? I mean, he was still paralyzed... did something else happen besides Cooper tossing him out of that window? :stunned

This is officially the Lost face: :stunned

  15. I can't take credit for noticing this one, I saw it on Lostpedia forums... but another difference is Desmond has a wedding band. Also, (and I DID notice this myself... :yes ) there is no indication that anyone other than Jack saw Desmond on the plane. I think Des is doing some freaky flash stuff in BOTH timelines... :unsure

  16. Anyone else notice that Claire's ultrasound was dated one month later than the original Flight 815? I didn't catch it myself. Saw it on Lostpedia.

I read on the Lostpedia forums that one of the production guys has confirmed that was an error.

I don't think the bomb went off. Wouldn't it have killed everyone in the general vicinity? And since the imploded hatch was there when they flashed to 2007, someone had to have built it. Though I guess it didn't necessarily have to be Radzinsky... Really, I have no idea what's going on. :mellow

  17. We don't know for sure whether or not the bomb went off. We don't know what the alternate timeline where the plane lands in LA means yet. I would assume those that were in the DI in the 70's remember it, since in Lost time, they were there, like... yesterday.

  18. Damon Lindelof's Tweet

Someone is a bit touchy. Although, I can't say that I blame him.

There's a lot of time left. Let's not rush everything.

This is one of the benefits and frustrations about watching the show "live" as opposed to on DVD.

I don't really blame Damon for that reaction. I frequent the Lostpedia forums and they are ALL over last night's episode for being filler and just generally horrid. And at one point the DarkUFO site had this epi ranked lower even than the one with Nikki & Paulo. It speaks a lot to our society's "instant gratification" mentality.

I keep hearing people complain that the "alternate timeline" is a waste of time, and I wonder... don't people realize that there is a PLAN going into the LAST season? I could understand all the grumbling more if this was a series trying to get renewed, but these guys have had an end date in sight for quite some time. I can't understand why people don't have a little bit of faith...

  19. I am wondering what the animosity is between Richard and the man in black? It appears that Richard actually fears the man in black. I'm pretty sure that Richard's alliance to Jacob has something to do it, but there's probably something more to it as well.

I don't know if it's necessary to "spoiler" this, as it's just a theory, but I'm going to play it safe...

There is speculation that Richard was a slave on the Black Rock ("nice to see you out of those chains") and that the MIB was responsible for freeing him. Somehow though Richard ended up following Jacob, hence pissing off the MIB.

It was neat to see Jeff Kober playing a minor role.

Yeah! It took me a minute to figure out who it was. I recognized him and it was driving me crazy I couldn't place him. I think the last time I saw him was on Law & Order SVU, and he was thinner and less gray... :lol

  20. I liked the episode. But I'm easy to please... :D Though I'm not sold on the rumor that the last 10 minutes held the key to the season... :P

I thought Josh Holloway did a great job. That scene on the dock broke my heart. In your face, Kate!!

So Claire is the new Rousseau, huh?

That's exactly what I came here to post... :lol
