  1. beaver tails? ouch. well, i do like the besnard lakes, malajube, sloan, the arrogant worms, paperboys, be good tanyas, oh and plenty more that i don't have time for now... i love you, canada.
  2. the only music i listened to as a young kid was whatever my mom and dad listened to... my dad - mainly willie nelson, johnny cash & hank williams. the only thing i remember my mom listening to much (she likes talk radio) was gordon lightfoot. so, i'm pretty sure that the first tape i bought for myself was cyndi lauper - she's so unusual. i was probably in 5th or 6th grade. on the first concert, my dad took us to some when we were young. i distinctly remember willie nelson and ronnie milsap, not sure if there were more. but the first concert i remember attending without a parent was

  4. the long winters were SO much fun in concert. not only were they tight, but very funny crowd banter and great stage presence. i hope they get out to the uk soon for you guys. though they said they're near the end of their tour and are heading back to seattle to work on a new album...
  5. ok, that's awesome, quit complaining. i'll be missing the books and cornelius in a couple weeks due to a cancun vacation. feel sorry for me. i've seen apples in stereo and the thermals lately... they'll be great. seeing xiu xiu and decemberists soon. i'm very jealous about okkervil river and jens lekman (if he accepts).
  6. i'm sorry. but, it was seriously the most amazing triple bill i've ever seen, and will probably ever see for quite some time.

  8. just got back from the long winters/the broken west/stars of track and field show. not that i'm complaining... just hoping i catch plasticities ( ) on youtube before it's pulled. and at least i get to see andrew (and apostle of hustle!) on the 25th.

  15. Chin Up Chin Up is playing in Denver in a couple of weeks, on the same night as What Made Milwaukee Famous/Aqueduct. I really like Chin Up Chin Up, but I'm seeing them open for Minus the Bear like a month later. Has anyone seen any of these bands live? Any insights? Thanks...
