According to FB, some folks seem to be calling MCarter Theatre directly and getting tickets.

In for Ottawa and Kingston

If I don't like the portapotties, I can go home to use the washroom.

I inspired something?
MapQuest says TD Centre/Lansdowne Park is a half a kilometer, or about .4 of a mile for our US friends.
I went to Chicago to see Jeff; that was around 1,300 kilometers.

Wilco is listed for the Ottawa CityFolk Festival. Festival runs from September 16 through 20 (about 5 blocks from my house)

I voted no. It's either too late or too early. If you had considered selling them 6 years ago, you might have got something for them. Pretty hard to sell right now for anything approaching what you paid for them. On the other hand, maybe they will appreciate in value in 10 years. I say keep 'em.

Wilco - Alpha Mike Foxtrot
I didn't get this for Christmas. Too subtle I guess. So I bought a copy for myself on Boxing Day.
Now I've got "Any Major Dude Will Tell You" stuck in my head. Plus I've got a big hunka gunk on "True Love Will Find You In The End". Will give it a good cleaning on the weekend and see if I can make it disappear.
-
Yeah. +1 on that.
-
Too early to say sold out. Keep trying.
-
Should I try to buy tickets (will these be will call only)? I can't go but I'd hate to see people here shut out. Anyhow, good luck to all.
-
Yeah, it's a shame I couldn't just order a copy of this to add to my LP preorder. Unlikely to show up in Canada.

How do we generate some traffic to our site?
I know! Make up a list where we insult every popular musician we can think of.

In some ways, I'm sorry to hear that - in only one way really. I considered going to this show and passed it up. Now I'm really disappointed.
Thanks for the review and happy to hear you enjoyed it. If he gets any closer to Ottawa (or if he even gets this close again), I'm going.

"How nice is it to see the younger generation playing the festival circuit."
Is this supposed to be a parody?
-
Metric system. The show was in Canada

He's also currently on the road with Tweedy- or he was... pretty sure he was Darin's bass tech. I saw him a bunch at the ryman, but never said anything to him. I
I think I saw him in Ottawa but couldn't be sure because he was wearing a shirt.

Thanks to Kalle for taking notes. I couldn't have named most of the new songs anyway but I just enjoyed this show.
It seemed to me Jeff was in a really super good mood. He looked so happy.
"Blues isn't supposed to make you feel good, it's supposed to make others feel worse. If that's an acceptable definition, then my music is definetly blues" or something like that.
The other observation is that I guess the "encore" was the band coming back for the last two numbers but Jeff never left the stage so it certainly wasn't perceived as an encore. I have never seen an Ottawa audience yell and shout for an unrequited encore that long and hard, and I have seen few audiences anywhere carry on like that. I suspect the stage manager told Jeff he couldn't go back because of the festival curfew, which was really disappointing in light of the fact that the Zedd was still blasting house music for at least another 10 minutes on another stage. We probably could have had another song or two if the Honey Island Swamp Band had left the stage when scheduled.
It would have been easy enough to skip a festival performance, Very pleased I went.

I'm not sure what this is all about.
I've probably said this before, but best first post ever

I am obviously ignorant about a lot of what goes on here. I don't know about the bannings, and when I read the rules in the context of this thread, they're a lot stronger than I would have thought.
I miss them both.

This is a wonderful community!
PM sent.
Thanks very much to linclink my vinyl angel

I'll pick it up for you tonight in Baltimore. ! I'll also write back to you to confirm that I got it...Glad to help, so no finder's fee (just shipping etc.!
Thanks very much for the offer. Let me know if you got it.
If not, I'll probably preorder from Wilcostore (thanks to A Radio Cure - I missed it in the Wilco Store; it doesn't show up in the vinyl section, oddly enough)
-
If anybody gets me one of these, I'll pay for cost, shipping, and finder's fee or something. I'm pretty much positive it won't be available in Ottawa (since it's a festival show)
thanks

..... My fear here, like with Mountain Jam (where he's also not a headliner) is that he'll play a truncated opening act "Festival" length set (not even headliner length, which is often 75-90 min.)...so something like 30-60 min., with 45 min. being my best bet. I wish there was some way to know how long he's actually playing!!! .....
The Ottawa Bluesfest schedule is posted. Jeff is booked from 9:30 - 10:45.
