I guess it’s hard to please everyone ‘cause everyone likes different stuff. But if people are using this board to do market research:
- I don’t want a t shirt with my music. I don’t want a bag and I don’t want a yo yo.
- I like vinyl. So for my money, put all the music on vinyl. If there are bonus tracks, I would gladly pay extra for a deluxe version of the album with all the songs. Make it two discs or three discs. That I will pay for. Don’t make me buy a CD to get the bonus material.
- If you want me to pre-order, make it something I can’t get when it is released generally. I am a sucker for limited coloured vinyl. Or a bonus single. Or a bonus single on coloured vinyl.
So I’ll be waiting until Vertigo Records in Ottawa gets this in.

Yeah, bobfrombob was about 3 rows from the stage and it scared him so much he started referring to himself in the third person. Despite how it's being reported about Bluesfest evacuating the site, Cheap Trick just left the stage. I guess from their vantage point, they had a much better look at the sky and could see it coming. They were only about 20 minutes into their set and pretty much ran off the stage. There was no evidence of Bluesfest evacuating the site from my vantage point until the stage went down. It started collapsing about 5 seconds after they ran off and as you can see in the video, it didn't take long. Amazing to me more people weren't hurt. No word yet how Rick Neilson's guitars made out.

Tom Waits had the best anti-scalping policy i have ever seen. The only complaint i have is i like to collect ticket stubs....
And even with this system, it would be pretty easy to issue at least a generic ticket stub to everyone when they enter. Which isn't ideal if you collect the stubs, but it's something.

No. Probably too late anyway.
Probably right. If you want to try: http://whatismyipaddress.com/change-ip

The only reason scalpers sell tickets is because people keep buying from them. Don't.
In lots of cases, if you wait them out, supply outstrips demand and they have to sell below cost. That is the one time when scalpers provide a valuable service.

I tried getting to the ticket page from Wilcos shows page, from Live nation, Ticketmaster and the venue page. Same error message every time.
Do you know how to change your IP address? That should work.

Why am I getting HTTP 403 Forbidden when I click on tickets?
Ticketmaster? Have you been refreshing a crazy amount? Or have you been using the "back" button instead of going starting again from the original page? If you mess with the system too much, they will lock you out for 24 hours.

So how about a second show, Central Park is open on Friday (Grace Potter on Saturday), and really, are Wilco gonna take a Friday and Saturday off in the middle of a tour?
2nd Central Park show added SEPT 23. Tix onsale Fri 7/22. Stay away from that secondary ticket market. Info: http://t.co/H0JsZaM (from Twitter)
and then I see this:
And then I see this:
- 23 Sep 2011 / New York, NY / Rumsey Playfield in Central Park view details
Presale: July 20 @ 10AM EDT
Onsale: July 22 @ 12PM EDT

It's your list so you get to set the rules but All Over The Place was promo only so if not radio play, what was the point of it?
-
so Madison 10/5/11 "overture center presale" states - 4 ticket limit per household. Do the two tickets my wife got in the Wednesday "frontgate presale" count against the "overture center presale"? - In other words, am I limited to being able to only get 2 tickets in the presale today?
Buying more than 2 would for sure have some level of risk. I can't imagine that Overture Center will compare notes with Frontgate. So I think the chances of getting caught "now" are very low. But if all the tickets are Will Call, and you pick up 6 or 8 at the box office, they may very well bust you then.
-
Unless I'm missing the point/parameters, you don't have:
All Over The Place
Reprise PRO-A-9094
10" 33 ⅓ RPM
Someone Else's Song (Live), Promising, Kingpin (Live), I Got You (Live), Don't You Honey Me, Passenger Side (Live), The Lonely 1 (Alternate)

There is a Montreal presale today. It is a general admission show so the tickets won't be any better but they're not Will Call.... And you don't have to wait 'til tomorrow.
-
There is a Live Nation presale for today for Ryman. Wilco has all the passwords on their show page. Looks like they don't have a password for Ryman.
Gotta link for the presale site? I can't find it on Live Nation. The passwords are often very easy to crack.

Did pretty well this morning:
Toronto Night 1 - 2 seats, row D, dead center
Toronto Night 2 - 3 seats, row H, dead center
Montreal - 2 GA
Damn this will be a fun three days!
Hard core.
Nice job at Bluesfest!
-
It's the scalpers loss, i'm pretty sure all of the Ryman tickets are Will Call only
Scalpers are an industrious lot. They are not afraid to post tickets before they have them in hand. They may be expecting to get tickets in the public sale.
-
OK. How many people this A.M. used an atomic clock to purchase presale tickets and were successful?
I haven't bought enough Frontgate tickets to know for sure what their practice is but most ticket sites aren't that precise with the time. I've seen tickets go on sale minutes early and minutes late.
-
I'm still trying to get to the Montreal page, anybody can confirm it's GA?
It's GA and it's Will Call only for the presale. I'm taking my chances with the public sale. As someone said earlier, Will Call is inconvenient.
-
thanks a lot!
yup, thats the page im at!
8 minutes
I just updated my post - don't forget to hit "refresh" or it wont change.
-
so...i have never done this
I got past the waiting room for the Ryman, but the screen im in is just info? Do i just sit here and wait till they go on sale?
Hard to know from that description where you are but for Montreal, I was sitting on a page that had a "on sale July 13" message on the right hand side - I think it was in red font and the rest of the font was black. At 10 am, that changed from a "on sale" to "purchase" - but I had to refresh the page.
-
There were one or two "don't they know who I am"s but I read them as tounge-in-cheek.
-
Those tickets are for sale on Ticketmaster's website and it says they don't go on sale till Friday.
I think that would be the public sale. Presale today.

Tonight at Bluesfest.

Deep breath. Good luck.
More Mermaid Avenue?

Glad I didn’t shell out $60 on eBay for a vinyl copy of the first Mermaid Ave.
