Reading this, I realized that to some degree, that's really what it's about for me, too. If they play Monday, I'm 100% satisfied! Too bad all the Fall 2011 dates are HOURS and many DOLLARS away from my North Florida locale... I wonder if more US dates will be added, smaller cities -- maybe in the spring?
If past practice is any indication, there will be more dates

And don't give up!!! Just because the system tells you there are no tickets at 10:01, that doesn't mean you won't get some at 10:04, 10:09, or 10:17. Keep trying.
Yeah - I suspect that Ryman show will be a crazy hard ticket.

We managed to get two of the clear vinyl no problem. We missed out on the signed copies, but got Glenn, Pat, Mikael and Nels to sign ours as we saw them out in the crowd over the weekend. At one point Jeff was actually behind the counter selling some with Tony Margherita, but I missed that too. Too much to see!
Totally owe you one.

I don't have a copy (not yet anyway) but as a guess, it's a collector thing. I would guess that the centre piece would pop out if you wanted to pop it out and if you want to leave it as is, you can.

Bruce Springsteen said of Clarence: Clarence lived a wonderful life. He carried within him a love of people that made them love him. He created a wondrous and extended family. He loved the saxophone, loved our fans and gave everything he had every night he stepped on stage. His loss is immeasurable and we are honored and thankful to have known him and had the opportunity to stand beside him for nearly forty years. He was my great friend, my partner, and with Clarence at my side, my band and I were able to tell a story far deeper than those simply contained in our music. His life,his memory, and his love will live on in that story and in our band.

The latest out of Florida has Clarence Clemons in better condition than anyone expected, a close friend tells Backstreets: "Yesterday, it did not look good at all. Today... miracles are happening. His vital signs are improving. He's responsive. His eyes are welling up when we're talking to him. He was paralyzed on his left side, but now he's squeezing with his left hand. This is the best news we've heard since [the stroke] happened — it's nothing short of miraculous. The next five days will still be critical. But he's a fighter."

I don't know anything about the Pearl Jam system but things were quite odd here in Ottawa. I was trying to grab a single ticket, during a presale and the public onsale. I tried for quite some time and not one floor ticket came up the whole time - not even a single floor at the back of the hall. If you look at Stubhub, nobody has floors for sale for that show. And at one point during a non-10 Club presale here, a message started popping up stating that the limit for the Pearl Jam presale was 2 tickets. No clue why the Pearl Jam presale would be an issue on the Ottawa ticket system (Capital Tickets). So I think they have held all of the floors back at least.

Gil played at the Ottawa Jazz Festival last summer. He was so charming and just seemed to love performing.

What I wanna know is how far in advance they know what the "secret ingredient" is. The way it's edited makes it seem like they find out that they have to cook with cheese or lobster or whatever and 20 seconds later, with no communication with their team, they're doing 5 courses.

To make things even worse: I refuse to go to a stadium concert,got free tickets the other day for Springsteen about 20 miles from where I live. no thanx, feels too much like a concentration camp to me.(80.000 people surrounded by barb wire ,police etc.)

I don't think Hillside will ever surpass the year with Arcade Fire, Weakerthans, Josh Ritter, Stars, Broken Social Scene, Hidden Cameras. 2005? I think a lot of the local folkies hated that year but it was a magic weekend.

Man, I just got around to listening to the Death Cab 7" and it sucks. It's just some lame-ass commercial for their new album: same lame track on both sides. Fuck that, I want my $4 back!

Is it a safe assumption that Metropolis in Montreal will be all GA? The Wilco/Frontgate site is less than informative for that show. But I’ve never seen a show there with reserved seating. If that’s the case, I will probably forgo the presale. It shouldn’t be that hard a ticket (famous last words).
