  5. hey friends, i am getting into GBV. ironically, i am from dayton, oh and never cared for them till now. i remember this dude playing them constantly in a record shop i worked at there in the mid 90s. anyway, can someone point me in the direction of a good online forum for GBV. also, is there an ftp of their stuff. finally, is it worth trying to get ALL of their singles and eps etc. i can just see their entire catalog of now rare stuff sitting in the bin at gem city records where i worked! thanks c
  6. the unreleased HDCD version of TFA is on the pig site. sounds like it is legit. and there is a bonus track-a sloppy electric Last Trip to Tulsa. c
  7. i will not be buying this. it is way too loud for willie and just over produced. i was hoping for the sound of cold roses with willie on vocals. not so. just not working for me. songbird is terrible as is the opener and stella blue. c
  8. if steve hackett was gonna be with them, then this would be cool. all of this will be determined by the setlist. if the band does a bunch of stuff from the 70s and early 80s and does not do ANY solo material then it might be a good show. phil collins can still sing well and rutherford and banks i am sure are still pretty competent. gabriel or not, this could be interesting. it all depends on the setlist.
  9. oh mercy-bob dylan freedom-neil young trans-neil young nebraska-bruce springsteen hearts and bones-paul simon in the dark-grateful dead reckoning-grateful dead dead set-grateful dead go to heaven-grateful dead life-neil young daylight again-crosby stills nash hawks and doves-neil young indigo girls-indigo girls off the top of my head-little different list than others. i am actually surprised at how many 80s albums i have. c
  10. well, i love the eagles. hotel california is one of those tunes i never tire of. there are several others as well. henley is great song writer. but his production is sooo bad. picked up inside job used a while back hoping he had some 21st century production. no go. sounds like it was produced in 1987. good songs just cheesy keyboards, back-up singers, drum machines ect. too bad his songs get missed in this chaos. i can handle the production on the hell freezes over originals so i am looking forward to a new eagles album. this will have a little adult contempo sheen tho. so if henle
  11. good point. guess maybe i am a little jealous of those who get it. glad folks are enjoying him. rider
  12. i just don't get it. there is nothing special about this dude at all. his voice is weak, arrangments are too bombastic, and he is wearing wings (i think?)...just my opinion. is there just a dirge of anything remotely good these days that this dude is the savior? rider
  13. okay, so if i get itunes v. 7 i will have gapless play on my ipod? anyone? just seems too simple.
  14. [will feel the need to make fun of you for not having an ipod. If you mean in general, do you need to accept the mp3 player revolution? Yes, you need to just get over it. You are doomed. And once you surrender, you will realize how amazing it is. thanks for the comments. i actually had an iriver for a day and took it back. had an issue with song names and artist ect synching. also, really wanted album artwork. i am probably sold on the ipod. the other issue is sound. i have read all these articles and blogs about mp3 vs. aac and bitrate ect. i have used others' ipods and i r

  18. okay, so dont trust it, but use? just seems like the company is the ones to get busted, not users. however, i do feel a bit guilty using it. may try it out. c
