OKGo actually opened for Wilco at the 4/20/06 show at Brown University and they actually did the entire dance routine from the first video on stage and it was absolutely hilarious, though I think the routine from this video is much better.

On a related, note, have any of you guys heard "4 Guitars Live"? Its a live recording of Nels playing with Thurston Moore, Lee Ranaldo, and Carlos Giffoni (a recent jim orourke collaborator). I just picked it up the other day, its cool but is almost 45 minutes of just noise. Anyone else heard it?

I think your probably thinking of the mark ronson version with alex greenwald from phantom planet on vocals. It was off of Exit Music: Songs With Radioheads....its a pretty cool tribute record but some of the songs are a little iffy.

lot better than that Cell Phone track...
Really I like the cellphone song better than this one, but I think they're both great. I also love Guero as well even though he is a scientoligist.

I usually go for Dog/Pet name, then street name, under that rule, mine would be Chester Maplewood, an awesome porn name.

Saw them open at the Pines Theatre show and thought that a few of the new tunes were kind of cool. One song had a I kind of spanish feel.

Actually saw him at a solo show in NYC earlier this summer and actually got to talk to him after the show. He said he was going to Japan to do a film project that would "take a while."

Sonic Defense is the supergroup with John, Pat, Thurston Moore, and Lee Ranaldo.

I saw this article a few days ago and it made me extremely happy. For one, I am a huge STE fan and it was fun to read some more opinionated stuff from him as his reviews are almost always with little or no bias (he's given Limp Bizkit three four-star reviews). I myself have never been a sufjan fan, I recall enjoying two or three songs off Illinois (and nothing off of Michigan, I haven't heard Seven Swans) but nothing more than that. Its nice to see someone calling him out after a full year of nothing but praise for his songs. Again, this is just opinion (as was STEs) so i wouldn't go punching people out quite yet.

I remember a few months back jeff did i webcast of one of his solo shows (university of chicago show maybe) and he covered Neil Young's "Walk On." Was wondering if any one has an MP3 of that song, I've been listening to On the Beach today and wanted to hear Jeff's take on the song. Thanks.

I saw Jen Lewis and Jonathan Rice in Toronto at the Opera House and Jen Lewis was top notch, all her vocals perfect and "The Watson Twins" were great as well. Jonathan Rice however was pretty terrible and only played a few songs before storming offstage in a hissy fit. He was even the worst musician in Jen Lewis' band!
Why did Jonathan storm off stage? When I saw him he was pretty good, nothing great though.

copped this from SOMB:
hmmm...range life, blue arrangemnts(a joos song!), shoot the singer and trigger cut would be cool. i thought freeze the saints was SM solo off the new one?

Whoa Malkmus played Jews and Pavement songs? I thought he didn't do that. What songs? Also was Malkmus solo acoustic? Sounds like an awesome show.

I counted 38
I'm near positive it was 32 as my friend next to me counted the same.
edit: I also posted a full review in my blog, see my signature.

how was Misunderstood?
Incredible, as usual, 32 nothings for those who werent counting.

The show was great. No rarities
In a Future Age opener? That song has only been played full band like 5 times since AGIB has been released, and they have played a loottt of shows since then. Only 27 times in total, mostly Tweedy solo.

Hey there folks, I'm the sax player.
Thanks to whoever shot and posted that video - the internet is a really a silly little place. Speaking of YouTube, John and I had a funny conversation about OK Go's dance routine being a YouTube sensation - which means that even rock stars watch stupid internet videos. I found that comforting.
Anyway, just to repeat what everyone else said - Wilco's sound was acceptable, but OK Go and Ted Leo got lost in the arena, which was (at least in Ted's case) really a shame. But yeah, OK Go was just pretty bad. I did pass my e-mail on to the one taper in attendance, so we'll see how it sounds when I get a copy (I'll be sure to post it to the BT).
So now we're trying to get down to Jersey to make tonight's gig. Wish us luck!
Awesome you guys were great! My friend and I were outside of the arena during soundcheck and heard I'm the man who loves you with horns. At first we thought it may have been some sort of keyboard affect but what a treat it was to have you guys up there, great job, good luck tonight in jersey if you make it.

I mean yeah, I thought ted leo was alright, sound was definitely an issue, I could barely here is vocals and everything was muddled, though I could hear the bass. I have two of his records and I like a bunch of the songs. Also his drummer is excellent. During the Wilco set the sound seemed to be a bit better, probably the fact that I knew all the songs helped that. And yeah great video thanks for that, you must have been a few people down from me, we were second row center.

What an incredible show. To be honest, going into this show I was not that excited, the setlists I had been seeing were pretty much the same as they have been for a year or two now but two or three songs in I decided that it didn't really matter because Wilco are the greatest live band out there right now, hands down.
Opening with In A Future Age was incredible and after that the band really seemed to play to the college arena audience. A lot of rockers and classics so to speak. The band was in top form, its amazing how tight they are. On top of that everyone seemed to be having a good time. Jeff was in a good mood but wasn't to talkative which was actually a nice thing because the set flowed so well. Other highlights aside from the opener were ALTWYS, Always In Love, ITMWLY and Monday with Brown U horn trio (trumpet, trombone, sax), Spiders, Kingpin, and just about everything else.
Kind of dissapointed with Walken, I heard it a few times before and my feelings that its a mediocre rock song stay the same but oh well, hopefully it won't show up on the new record.
Overall a great show, much better than I expected from a college show, an 80-minute set plus two full encores. I also like the GA Wilco shows a lot better (the view from the second row dead center was pretty incredible).
Oh and in case anyone was wondering, OK Go were awful but did a hilarious dance routine and Ted Leo was ok. But I think everyone forgot about that once Wilco came on.

This song sounds a little like porn music.
